As a general note, it seems i'm the only on earth who has some reservations about the whole "let's get back to the real Amiga" vibe that is going on at the moment. To be honest, i'm not sure at this point how much i'm looking forward to seeing rotozoomers, big balls, glenz, copperbars and such typical oldschool effects again because i feel like i have seen enough of those many years ago. I'm all for A500 demos if they offer something fresh/new/different though.

Now, for me, the real star of this demo is therefor not the effects but the effects combined with the music, transitions, synch and attention to detail all together forming a really nice and smooth flowing package. I love coders that take time to build up a scene/show the scene/break down the scene and transition to the next scene. It helps so much in making a demo enjoyable and fun to watch and rewatch. And this is where this demo excels at. From the very start to the end, it's very well thought out and executed. It's something that you see a lot in the current C64 scene.

In that sense, i'm almost more excited to see what's coming next. With the skill, attention to detail and perfectionism involved in this production, it's definately exciting and something to watch out for. Hopefully, some former pixel artists will find renewed interest in joining this scene too. But i feel this A500 revival is going to be about more than redoing the old effects to make it interesting for me.

Probably the best A500 demo since the A500 heyday awesome work! A lot of work clearly went into this release and it is really appreciated. Hopefully it will inspire more chipset based Amiga demos.

The plasma and final tunnel effect in full screen would have been killer ;0)

Seriously, I got goose bumps when I saw this at Revision. Loved everything; full framerate effects, color settings, fast direction, very nice gfx and transitions, especially the transitions. Magnars mod for part two sets a great feeling as well. I really took me back to my early teens.

I'm not much for scrolltexts but this was different. Nice to read about the tech behind the effects.

The twisting "Presents" scroll was like a bitchslap to my face. I mean, I've looked at it and the plasmas now from point blank range on a CRT and they're just bloody gorgeous.
To a large extend I share z5's reservation towards another tidal wave of "Glenzmania" which would be tantamount to the "Tunnelmania" of the C2P section.
But, at the end of the day, the demos that deliver the best design and implementation of established effects, let alone innovative effects, will stand out and take the cake!

This Redux of a well known demo is an oldschool arsekicker. and as the very author posted in the "lunatic asylum" (i.e. Pouet): "we won't get away with it another time" ... exactly.

Absolutely wonderful prod! Like Dodge I also loved the 'Presents' part! The effects are super slick and they keep coming at you in rapid succession. I had not seen the original, so to me it was a new prod :) .I also share Z5's reservation against a new wave of pure-oldschool, but I think it will not really happen. Maybe we can get to some middle ground kind of production which captures the whole range of the Amiga-500/1200 estetique. The c64 demoscene is in many ways at this point now. We see both new fashioned c2pish effects as well as more classic effects. Modern design aswell as oldschool design. I hope the amiga demoscene can reach this level too.

I don't think getting more "pure-oldschool" demos is a bad thing, as long as they're as slick and well executed as this one. Really a great piece of work, but would have made an even bigger impact on myself as a "new" demo instead of a remix :)

I don't care if you call it a redux or if the overall flow is similar to the old one. To me this is a new demo with new and awesome effects (nine balls, you're kidding, right?) and brilliant design. And much less reuse than many other demos which claim to be new.

Oh, and what others said about the "presents" twister. :)
