From the good old Times i remebered that in Oddysey -Alcatraz demo the coder was proud to use very fast 2 raster lines playing routine. I have also come across Noisepacker at some point but did not understand what its for.
To explore this mystery recently I have found this page:
http://www.amiga-stuff.com/modpackers-download.html

There I could find many informations regarding what they do and how fast they are, but there is something not right,
Oddysey used 2 raster lines routines while those super fast routines uses 6-8 lines. Yes I know it is much faster than original PROTRACKER routine which uses nearly 80 raster lines, but still Wonder what causes those differencies.
I suspect it is caused by some protracker commands which require more CPU power to execute, so if I am right does anyone can tell me what should be avoided in protracker commands to create the fastest playing routine? Maybe its already created?

Just use The Player 6.1, its the defacto standard fastest replayer. Photons latest version is I believe even faster and has more features. This would be your best bet because your musician is likely to use some ProTracker bugs (features?!) which are all supported by P61.

I also started to play with the rep layer by phx which he uses in his sqrz game (hopefully I remember the name correctly) which can be found on aminet. It uses two CIA timer interrupts. But I did not make any speed tests so far…
