Hello everyone!
I've been using Protracker since I remember and few days ago I was asked to play a "concert" at the upcoming demoparty. I agreed and now I have few problems - let me describe the most urgent one:

I decided I want to use my Amiga 600 to play some party-fitted modules synced with other, modern sequencers.
And for the first time I noticed that Protracker BPM is not 100% accurate. Quick search, and I have the answers:

http://modarchive.org/forums/index.php?topic=2709. 0

The team of OpenMPT implemented "modern tempo mode" in their tracker:
http://wiki.openmpt.org/Manual:_Song_Properties#Te mpo_Mode

And here comes my question: would it be possible to implement this "modern tempo" routine to Protracker 3.15?
I have the sources, but this kind of coding, and amiga enviroment from this point of view, is black magic for me ;)

I'd rather render the modules to .wav and then sync the playback using timestretch or pitch...

That would kill the fun of playing from Amiga :)

Maybe there is an other Player/Tracker that is able to sync?

Hmm... I'll test ArtOfNoise and MED, but I think every tracker/player on Amiga used that timer-based routine.

The thing is, if you change the tempo even slightly, you have to re-pitch the samples as well, as they rely on the tempo being what it is :)

Hey ace, just caught a tiny bit of the set on the we can stream. ;)

However, on a side note, I've just started a project you'll be interested in. It's basically a Dj based player for modules. Will have functions such as decimal based bpm adjustments which can also change the pitch of the samples, looping, gate effect, etc. etc.

Still massively early days yet but will keep you posted!

Really? What platform?

Any chance of timecode support? I'd love to get my Technics pointed at some mods! :D

h0ffs mods are being done for native Amiga PT korruptor

EDIT: at least I *think* that's what he's referring to, could be wrong though... :)

Oh, I thought he meant something like this, but for mods: http://djplayer.net

Timecode for Amiga! Dont think that'll ever happen, however the PT-1210 MK1 (aka The ProTracker TurnTable) is now in prototype mode.. features so far...

Adjust BPM - auto adjusts sample pitch
Nudge Track - to push the track back into sync if it drifts out
Pattern Loop Start / End - Hit the key to set the start pattern then again to set the end pattern and it loops that section of the track.

Still loads of stuff to do but I think it's enough functionality to do a DJ set using two Amigas and a DJ mixer. Akira is running some tests, sadly I can't on real hardware as I only have one Amiga (for now!!)

Hopefully got someone onto a C64 version too ;)

Hahaha, oh well, I can live without timecode ;)

I would laugh my arse off beatmatching mods. That'd make for a hell of an addition to a house party. Not sure I've got a table big enough for my technics and 2 amigas though :D

Class act, man, can't wait to have a go!
