but werent there dozends of little pixelwhores who just copied boris scans over 10 years and still dominate the charts? ;)
copycats are copycats... it dont makes a difference if they use dpaint or photoshop.

What tools do you use nowadays to make pictures?

I must say that i tend to appreciate low color (256 or less) low resolution graphics a bit more than the 24 bit monster resolution pictures from recent years (in general anyway). But that's just me i guess.

Allthough, i can really appreciate Xenusion's work aswell (awesome graphics!) because he does something original with his pictures and creates intense atmospheres.

The stuff that Made does nowadays is something i really love aswell, though again i tend to prefer his older pictures a bit more.

I have never copied a Voris picture and i surely never will...
Hmm the firs graphician I think of when people speak about Boris copycat is Made... But he hasn't only made copies.
Infact i like his style very much...
And besides... Who have never copied another picture, only if just for fun oc practise?

all what i tried to say is that there is no big difference between someone who is just copying stupid pornpics with photoshop and someone who copied scans pixel per pixel.
well there is a difference as i honour at least the work amount and palette problems with doing pixel stuff but copying is easy and cant be called art. thats all.

time has changed. no one is better or worser just coz he uses a specific tool.

thats what i tried to say as answer to your little bitching about "photocheating" ;)

Mhh..nope! Anyway, I can write the same to you here. Please make a 14 out of the JP#13. I can use your titlepic for the next issue if you like to! Or as an endpic, what do you think? As endpic I had the idea to write "JP -we wave goodbye" as there's a sort of wave on your picture.

I've done some pixelling on my tablet in WinUAE lately. Good fun, and actually preferable to the old mouse.

@Archmage: Does that mean that you still use DPaint now and again or have you gone completely Photoshop? Anyway, it's fab that you decided to return to the scene and do graphics again. Your Nexus 7 picture is legendary and awesome!

Thanks! ;) Glad u like it! About time to release something new though... ;)

I mainly use Photoshop, but I am working on a picture in Dpaint as well. I also just discovered the PC-based pixel tool Project One for the C64. Some of the gfx-artists I really admire nowadays are active on the C64, so I'm trying to do something cool to get a foot in the door of that scene. We'll see.

@Archmage:

I'm really looking forward to your work. Decent, non 3D graphics is what i miss the most in modern pc demos. Graphics like in My Galaxy, the Atari demo released at Numerica for example. Or the pictures in lux aeterna luceat eis from Ephidrena... combined with some very "simple" effects (the leaves), those scenes were breathtaking imo.

In a way, i'm hoping that you can bring this back in a new Andromeda demo.

No, Satellite is a multiplatform group. There will be Amiga stuff too, maybe even C64 stuff. But as a graphician I need to express myself in higher resolutions sometimes. :)

hmm... interesting :) Any other members known already or is it a secret? Does that mean that you sort of left IRIS or is this a "side project".

Damn, you made me curious :)
