hey there,
don't know if there are many coders still around for the amiga, but I am holding a UK event in Coventry. Sat 1st November. If a bunch of coders want to come along and try and put a demo together (perhaps using the new OS4.1) then that would be cool.

For more info check out the Midland Amiga Group (MAG) website

There are about 30 people coming so far, but I don't if any of them are coders. I'd love to get loads of people there coders and non-coders alike to be honest.
I'd love to dedicate a portion of the hall to some sort of coding competition, but I don't have any prizes. And, I've never been to a coding party, so I no idea what is expected.

Let me know how the parties pan out and what sort of things are required. Maybe we could get something good going? A regular UK coding party perhaps?

Cheers

I live about 45 minutes drive from Coventry, I'll try to be there! It will be cool if coders can code something together.

DO YOU NEED MUSIC? I can provide some neat track or two! Just pick your format and style and let me know!

hey there,
thanks for the offer of music. MAG have a music man who I'm expecting to come along and do something Amiga-ish.

Come along anywya - bring some tunes and if we need your help I'll give you a shout.

I'm looking forward to getting some coders together. I have been speaking with a guy from the Turkish demo scene who is looking forward to meeting other coders.

skipp, maybe if you in interest, you can do one-two 4ch modules for second issue of our mag ? (http://vague.lorraine-design.com). Or maybe you have somethink unreleased and unpublished but still good for using as music for diskmag ?

Sure kasie, I'll try!

So, basically you are looking for something nice and downtempo for the background, right? What are the limitations - size-wise or other?

skipp - limitation only one - it must be 4ch mod'ule which will be cool to play in background while reading an articles. You can check here mods from first issue (maybe it help to catch right mood). Size-wise does not matter .
ps. if you have email or icq number, it can be better to talk in it becouse of time and so on :)

So, do we have any coders interested in coming along?

I've invited a friend of mine who featured in the Spaceballs State of the Art demo. Come along and have a chat with them, see what involvement they had....

If we can get enough people to come along and bring their equipment I'd love to see what can be produced.

We will have new hardware on show (ACubes SAM running OS4.1 and Minimig A500 remake) so it would be great to see what potential these have.

Interested? Pledge at the MAG website

Update -

There will be a raffle prize up for grabs. A very generous donation has been made of a brand new SAM board and OS 4.1 can be won!!

tickets cost £3 per strip of 5, so if you want a chance to win such an amazing prize come along on 1st November.

There will be tables for people to bring their systems and get some coding done if you so wish.

HYPERION will be there showing off OS4.1 and AMIGAKIT will be there to buy the hardware and software from.

HOPEFULLY we will get INDIVIDUAL COMPUTERS and MAYBE ACUBE if they can stop off on the way back from the other Amiga meetings they have been attending.

So, come along! and have some fun
£3 to get in. seminars are planned and refreshments will be available.
