Anyone else using E-UAE? It's working quite well but I'm having a few problems. Some demos don't run complaining about missing FPU. Some demos detect it ok. (The processor type is set to 68040 in the configuration)
Another problem is with AHI. I know it isn't supported the same way as in winuae but I haven't been able to get the normal paula modes either. Any help would be appreciated.

here's the configuration I'm using atm.

Hi!

-I'm also using E-UAE on a Mac and have exactly the same FPU bug... sigh. For example, Morning Trip/Loonies complains. Some demos detect the fpu, though.

-Concerning the audio emulation, on my Mac w/ OS X 10.4.10, I have found that a sampling rate of 22,05k works best, don't know why (I don't think CPU power is an issue here, C2D 2,16 GHz). That means a roll-of at 10kHz, but thats fine. Even the "dirty" music players seem to work, where single sample bytes are being played at regular intervals. I have never worked with AHI, though.

Aside from that, E-UAE works fine, and I've watched many demos on it. Some demos work even better than on the newest WinUAE..

On the bright side, try setting the fullscreen res to 1024 x 820. With my ATI X1600 and 1280x1024 TFT display, this results in LO RES pixels of exactly 4x4 pixels on the tft, hence the monitor's video scaler does not interfere. Super sharp picture! Also works for my standard MEDRES workbench, respectively. I wonder why setting 1024 x 820 does achieve this, found it out by accident :)

Have you compiled E-UAE yourself? I'm using the vanilla universal binary. Cheers!

Yeah regular module-players work fine except that in some demos (or in some parts) the modules are playing at wrong speed (floppy-datablade for instance, but then again I was never able to run that demo at all in winuae so I'd say it works much better with this:)
I got the e-uae stuff from bonkers so I'm not sure which binary it is actually. maybe just the standard one (or maybe not).
Really happy that I don't need to boot to windows anymore to try or code something though. I've been able to get much much more done now.

This is a bit of a long shot, but have you tried using OxyPatcher or another math emulator? The 68040 internal FPU is a reduced version of the 68882 FPU and AmigaOS will not report full FPU support until either one is installed or math emulation code has been loaded.

thanks, that got me thinking so I changed the line to cpu_type=68020/68881 ... and now most things seem to work!. Datablade doesn't seem to work anymore so I guess that setting actually makes a difference :)
