@elektro: at one point soon, you are going to have to choose the coder or you will end up pissing off people for working on something and then choosing someone else.

Why you think that ? One person can do one version for Ecs machines other for better ones. Common...

@Elektro
Just replied to your email. Here's a small piece of it.

Yes, it seems that the general consensus is the "S0S 001" engine is ugly.
I have started code again from scratch after I took a look at the "Blue Moon" graphics and realised they would not fit easily into it. Also the alpha version I sent was really only meant to demonstrate how the AHX replayer would work.

With the new engine I am coding I have changed my method for displaying GFX to be much more system friendly (hopefully no more enforcer hits), but I think the scroller will still have to "bash the hardware" a bit.

@Britelite

I have only just started coding really. And I have no doubt that anything you could code would shit all over anything I could code. But I don't think the code will take me much longer than a week.
Also...
...Are you experienced integrating 68k with Blitz2? Simply displaying the artwork and playing the modules is pretty simple stuff really, but it would be nice to have some moving parts. I am just about to start work on a scroller, but have no doubt that you could probably do this a fair bit better than I.

@blakkhar
The S0S_001.NFO file suggest you pull the screen all the way down when multitasking; Yes I know how horribly lazy of me this is.
The control issue is certainly one of the features wich will be addressed in both "Blue Moon" and the next "System Of Sound" engine. And thanks again for bug reports.

Oh, and another thing which could be a pain is ESC to quit, but the Aminet version does not do this (only the ADF version).

Ok, here is what I should have said yesterday, but I had other things on my mind.

If Britelite is willing to do the code within the deadline (which I assume to be sometime in august) then his version should be the version which is released, for he is undoubtably a FAR more experienced and talented Amiga coder than I (In my opinion the best active coder on the scene, on a par with Xeron and Stingray). I will not be offended at all if Elektro chooses to go with Britelite.

But, seeing as I have all the data and have already made a start, then I will continue with my version regardless of whether it is released or not for several reasons, some of which are:
1) If for some reason Britelite is not able to code this then at lest you will have something.
2) I really could use more practice coding for Amiga as well as working with a team.

cheers.

Mate, i'm up with Your code at the moment, but really if Britelite can help You with some procedures, bugfixing and other it's be great and You both will be credited as a coders. Working together is only better, and learning form others as well of course if He want to share his knowelge. ;)

StingRay is in a totally different league to me; an awesome coder.

I also consider BriteLite to be better than myself.

But you DID code Pork Pie, which absolutley fukin' rocks! And HAM-6 Kefratraz Bars, which I often leave running on my screen when I'm not doing anything on my Amiga (with the sound down, as it's a bit too cheesy for my taste).

So there!

Elektro: Did you find a coder yet? If not, I have 2 finished music disk sources, both never released due to various reasons. If you want to use one of them, let me know and I'll get in touch with you.
