Does anyone know what tricks these guys pulled aside from precalcing vertices etc to have what appeared to be the fastest routine of all groups? Their objects were always bigger, more detailed and more colourful than anyone elses.

Just curious... :)

I guess that is way enough.

Also if the blitter had to use just for a few passes (3 bitplanes for 8-coloured objects) that's also a speedup.

I watched the Crionics megademo 2 recently. While other demos run perfectly well on my G4/1GHz, it maxed it out and started dropping frames. So it must be massive blitter torture.

Sorry, forgot to mention that it was under E-UAE with an A500 configuration :)
