Hi!

I'm glad that I've found this forum and I hope that someone can help me.
I'm looking for the high quality (44 kHz) soundtrack "Wasted" by Olof Gustafsson, used in the demo "Requiem" by TBL. It's a great theme and I really love it. I've already grabbed the 22 kHz version from the demo and I could listen to it for hours ... but it would even nicer to hear the original, uncompressed version.

Is there a chance to get this?

Any help is appreciated. :)

hi Herb,

I asked the very same question a while ago but until now, i have never seen a download link for the music.

Seeing as Kalms drops in on these forums once in a while, hopefully he will be able to help.

Yes, he dropped in again, I see the other thread in which he posted ... it seems that Kalms is our man, hopefully! :)

What I usually do for this is to get the video version (which TBL does usually with the original mp3 inside) and then extract the mp3 stream (not get a wav and reencode, but actually copy-out the sound):

$ mplayer -dumpaudio -dumpfile music.mp3 demo.avi

note: if the video is .ogm, then the music may come as vorbis, so the copyout will actually produce an vorbis and not a mp3.

@winden:
Thanks for the tip, but Requiem isn't available as video on TBL's website. I downloaded the video file at scene.org and listened to the soundtrack ... but it sounded terrible to my ears. If that's really the 44 kHz version which was used for the video file, then I must honestly admit that my ripped 22 kHz version sounds by far better - really!

I guess (and hope) the video file which is hosted at scene.org wasn't produced by TBL.

Hi Rage, thanks for your help, but you are some days too late. :)

Kalms posted a link in the Dear Santa... thread, the MP3 is in superb 256 kbps.

Sorry, I could have linked from this thread to the Dear Santa thread in order to close the circle ... :(

Anyway, merry christmas to all!
