All screens done. Doing colour-scrubbing and 2 transitions are also on the list.

Most effects in shape. Still lots and lots of scripting to be done. And simple filler effects. And getting it down to 4k. :)

Really looking forward to the Amiga compos. I think I have never before heard about so many Amiga productions beforehand. This really lifts the excitement!

The introcompetitions seriously lacked entries, sadly. We heard from Teo that the organizers were about to cancel the 64k compo (or melting it together with the 4k compo), and then Optima quickly hacked together a composaver, which was delivered to the great guy, Charlie, from the Amiga organizing team. That saved the last Amiga 64k compo at Breakpoint. It was delivered just before the compo was about to start, phew.

We also discovered that the Amiga 4k compo lacked entries, and we then again hacked together some compofillers in order to make the compo happen at the last Breakpoint. We are aware that our 4k's suck, but it IS limited what you can do in such short time.

Amiga 4k entries:
Some title I can't remember...by Loonies
"The nonstop nosound experience" by Focus Design (made in 10 hours prior to the party)
"Bingen Street View" by Focus Design (made in about 2 hours at the party)

Amiga 64k entries:
Some title I can't remember...by Moods Plateau
"Charger" by Focus Design (the only intro release we had been working on for some time)
"Die ewigkeit nervt" by Focus Design (the code was started a few days before the party, actually to make a possible 4k). Teo talked to the compoorganizers and somehow found us in the crowded party hall. They gave Optima about 4 hours to make an intro, and luckily he managed to do just that. When he made the first exe he discovered that it didn't work, and since the "hand in the production for recording - time" rapidly approached, he had to work under a serious, serious pressure. He found the bug, and off he went to the recording room with the intro on a usb stick. Thanks again to Charlie, for giving us the opportunity to have an Amiga 64k compo!!

I'm hoping that the democompo will have more entries. We will be present there as well, but now we don't want to make more last minute compofillers. Again, I apologize for the poor quality of our 4k's, but making 4k's isn't really that easy you know. We have just used our normal intro/demo framework, which is not tuned in to make something that small in size :-D

dodge: let's all hug Optima for making the composaver for the 64k compo. If last Breakpoint was Britepoint, then this Breakpoint should be named Optipoint, 'cos he has been involved in 5(!) Focus Design Amiga productions...and actually just a few days ago we only planned on participating in the 64k and in the democompo...but things kinda evolved :-D

Really impressive amiga compo. There were at least 7 very good demos.

Totally didn't see that Ozone comeback coming. Since Drareg is one of my all time favourite coders, this was a incredibly nice surprise. Also, Noname and Haujobb, Slayer, Jazzcat and Codi all coming back. Wow.

Very much looking forward to rewatching all these demos.

Short list of demos: artway, a1k, focus design, desire, haujobb, ozone, nature & traktor, elude, rno & ghosttown, software failure and tulou. 11 demos in total iirc

While taking screenshots, it occured to me that most of the bp prods look visually stunning.

So, Kiero won at last.

Loady painfully realised that OO programming in C viciously affects the framerate and would not pass the feared head of EPH Quality Assurance Dept. Frequent ;D - which reportedly led to considerable use of Gammel Opland.

I, for the first time, witnessed the release of an Ozone production and hereby certify that I'm of legal age!

Tulou took us deeply under the see again with splendid concept and soundtrack ... and KUGELFISCH!

NAT&TRK again proved that they're the handy men of the scene who easily could take on the directors Jim Abrahams and David Zucker regarding slapstick humor and self irony xD

...now I'm realising that I'm smelling like a wet dog ...

Damn cool democompo. And Aske's 4k is awesome.
Thank you all, guys.
Shame on me, I chose the sofa-scener way this year...

It was great to meet Kiero, Britelite, Dalton, Winden, Leunam and others in the biggest amiga demo compo I have ever seen. 11 Amiga demos in a compo... woah! didn't expect that in 2010 so big smile here :-D

It might be just me imagining things but i have a feeling that there's a renewed feeling of optimism for amiga as a demo platform, probably due to 2 consecutive very nice demo compos at bp. Reading the comments on pouet, it seems that the amiga demos get a lot of recognition outside of the amiga scene itself. The comeback of desire, haujobb, ozone and ghosttown (which are mostly ex appendix members) seems to indicate this aswell. Again, i'm trying not to read too much in it but this bp left me feeling optimistic.

Also, there are other truly great groups still alive who haven't released at bp this year (groups like ephidrena, tbl, unique). Pity that Jamie didn't manage to finish his demo as that would have made the competition truly complete (ozone, skarla, haujobb just like at the end of the nineties). But i'm still hopeful we'll see his demo someday (crossing my fingers, jamie!). And while i'm still dreaming of great coders and groups coming back, how about winden and network :) Oh well, back to reality.

In the end, i hope that coders will keep helping each other with advice on this forum or any other forum. In the last months, sdw showed interest to do amiga coding again (after 17 years) and krishna seems to have routines for a demo. So that's two potential releases.

It was really nice taking part in the demo compo this year. Unfortunately I haven't been able to rewatch the entries, but my personal favourites where Ozone and Traktor/Nature. I also lift my hat off for Elude showing very high technical skills even though the style is not really my cup of tea. Great work everybody!

Also thanks to Charlie (sorry about the filename =)
