More stuff is in the system now, but partycoding will be a necessity. Please provide Beck's until the production is finished - I will be the angrylooking guy with tired red eyes cursing Asmone and deadlines, so it should be possible to find me in the hall.

Started bringing food with me to work, now I can squeeze in 30 minutes of coding when everyone else pops out =).

Bonkers: Now that is really weird :-D. But then again, 30 minutes of coding is better than no coding at all.

off-topic: 3 (bp2009) amiga prods in the scene.org awards: lightshaft (best gfx), Luminagia (best 4k), Jesus Christ motocross (best demo, best soundtrack, most original, public choice).

@bonkers: are you working in the US?

@corial, weird or not that just depends on how desperate/far behind schedule you are I guess =)

@z5, yes I am.

bonkers: so true :-). I also spend quite a few evenings trying to finish my BP production, and a betastate of it should be possible within the next 10 days...\o/

Yeah, we had a similar thread last year, and it turned out that Scamp, after the show, has transfered prize money from the PC demo compo to the Amiga & Real wild compos AFAIK ...
So that seemed to be a signal that this little active scene pretty much "wiped the floor" with the PC mainstream :D (refereing to the abyssmal demo compo, 4k was the bomb, though).

Especially in matters of style, music, originality and still pushing boundaries (Luminagia !)
after 15 years (of AGA).
That's the part of BP I will miss - the seperate compos - unless another big party dares to pick up this flag.

And I'm convinced that this forum played a major role in that \o/

I have to admit, that last years pc-demo compo was a downer. There was not really a lack of good entries, but none of them was a classical winner demo. Perhaps a bit harsh of the audience to let out the disappointment with one single "Boooo!!" when the compo was over.

Anyway, last ever Breakpoint should be celebrated with a blast, so I hope all demo and introcompos this year will bring noticeable releases.

Well, the way I remember last years PC demo compo was as follows:

The guys of Plush "scavanged" half a tray of beer on the meadow.
D!rt!e found a bag of weed on his way back from the parking lot roughly at the same time.
In addition several packs of Ahoi-Brause.
Thus, we joined around the beer tray in the DJ tent, rolled up 2 joints and watched one "grey scale ambient" nightmare following the other.
I guess with two exceptions that eventually ended up on the pedestal.

A nice break was the "Jarig- Rick Rolling" were we experienced this strange Suomi-guy running like a hellhound from the DJ tent to the mainhall as the "dans actie" started - seeing him "diving" into the crowd on the screen was just bloody hilarious xD

Yea, I hope that everybody is busting their arses to give this party one hell of a good bye :)
One thing is for sure, though. It will be packed. More than 750 people have registered.

Well, all baseeffects are so close to being finished now. Maybe the partycoding will just be adjusting colours, timing and make some minor things. I'm surprised, because just a few weeks ago it all looked like it was going to be damn tight, due to the fact that the deadline is placed relatively early on Easter Saturday. That means: fixing the last stuff on Easter Friday, drinking Beck's, sleep, Eier mit Speck and brötchen, uploading the production....Beck's....that does not sound bad at all!

I think we are at a point where our stuff is close to releasable now. It isn't awesome, but I would rather release it than miss the compo. The strange thing is that there is more "design" stuff than actual effects now. The "design" stuff is incoherent as hell though. So the next week and a half or so until BP will be about packing in more traditional demo effects. Maybe some recycling who knows. No blockbuster so far, but okish.

Well done, Load. Also remember to whip Aske's ass so we'll get another great 4k from him.

Awesome news all around, it seems :)

Anyone knows if Britelite is doing something? His "what next demo" comment on pouet has me slightly worried. Would be a super shame without any rno/supergroup/dekadence release.

The bp thread each year is fun. Last year's thread was great too. Dodke's progress reports were funny (especially considering how hot the demo turned out in the end).

Actually, I've been trying to whip Espen's ass to get another great 4k from him. ;)

Anyway, vacation is finally upon me, so it's more or less non-stop intro work from now till Breakpoint. The code has been mostly finished for some time now, so it's all "just" content work.

And I might even bring a real Amiga to Breakpoint this year. :-D I think the last time I did that was back in 2003, at the very first Breakpoint.

yeah, Freezepoint brings back real "ghettoscener" memories :D

Just dropped the Beta 1 on our mailinglist.
Now the real hassle with the transitions, the speed tweaking, the colours and the syncing and the cheesy scene poetry begins.

The pace on the 500 is still so abyssmal... :/

Its going to be a big one this last BP, there are now 817 registered attendants, having a look at previous years there were, 604 (2009), 703 (2008), 736 (2007) and 836 in 2006. Great to see that the trend of less people (at least in terms of registrations) have been broken.

Crazy. We'll have to sit on top of each other. However, I wonder how many people are actually going to sit inside in the hall at their computers. If it's sunny weather, most people are probably going to stay outside and drink some cold beers.

Corial, yeah lets hope for good weather and that we will all be done with our productions so that we can enjoy the beer-garden. However, from previous years I know that we are usually working non-stop till 5h past the deadline =). I've always enjoyed the Amiga-scene gathering around the fire after the demo compo while everyone else watches the PC compo.
