Kas1e took over the Coders Corner in JP. But we're of course always thankful for contributions from other coders!! In case you have troubles with the english language - we can help you, no worries about that!

I guess issue 15 will come out around January 2006.

Ghady, you can have my "water wipe tutorial" I posted at this very same forum some weeks ago.

birdseye view voxel:

1. code regular voxel (which we all know how to do by now *sigh*)
2. place monitor on floor, rotate it 90 degress about its x-axis (so its screen is facing upwards)
3. stand above your monitor and watch in delight.

hello!

I am back in this forum after some months!

I think that many "tutorials" in this forum, can be easily tranformed in nice articles for JP. They are well written and have been corrected/improved by the discussion in the thread!

Please, tutorial authors, convert them into JP articles! :-)

regards

Converting totorials from here for JP? Yeah, why not? Z5, could you please just send them to me via email? That would be the most clever way I think.

Rather not. Most of the stuff on here aren't really tutorials, but discussions / questions with answers and corrections spread over many posts. I certainly wouldn't like to see any of my "tutorials/discussions" in any coderscorner because they are lame questions from a newbie who never got further than a scrolltext.

If you want to use tutorials from here, you need the authorisation and approval from the person who wrote it (like Winden gave you for the waterwipe effect).

@Ghandy

of course my proposal was that single authors should decide for themselves and "convert" by themselves their post in a nice tutorial, like z5 said.
That's the most correct way

I could make a tutorial for that voxel effect, even more seeing that I've got many variations on the theme (plane-from-above, plane-from-side, cylinder, sphere, etc...)

BUT kas1e, please take a hard look at my earlier tutorial for waper wipe and feedback any queries about expanding some parts if you feel there is any need (ie: i guess making a goodloking wipe-table-drawing is not really easy).

Not before the end of January or early February. So you and everybody else has enough time to gather & prepare your support. I've been working like a slave recently.

Huys, the birds eye view voxel trick was explained in trashcan 5 coding corder by chip/powerline^endzeit. in fact he explained the complete polar-drawing engine, which is then coupled to a voxel-drawing routine. A very nice demo featuring all sort of voxel and polar tricks is "Enforcing the law" from The Party 7 :)

nah... the wussies from Eph are just afraid to be beaten yet again by TBL... so they avoid competing with them... :)

demos in my upcoming "super-mega warp3d emag"

As we, classic users with our outdated hardware, will probably not be able to run and read the mag anywa, that is not a convincing argument... :) (only kidding ofcourse)
