Wow, great demo. I can't comment on the framerate because i have only seen this on Winuae (btw, youtube video version looses a lot of subtle details in the graphics and is not recommended).

The effects are stunning and it's rather hard to believe this is running on an aga Amiga as most effects look rather high-end. Great tune and very nice synchro. 2D graphics were subtle but very nice. Great to see Substrate having more input with each new demo. I loved all parts but the credits scene in particular looked fantastic. As always, Kiero manages to present his effects with a lot of style.

Minor points: could probably have done with a splash of color (certainly not much, but some shades of red maybe in a scene or two) and the 2D graphics are maybe a tad too subtle. My first reaction when seeing the video version was that there could have been a bit more 2D graphics but when watching in Winuae, i noticed the 2D graphics are there.

Pretty cool. The last effect is worth the whole demo, but there's plenty of goodness everywhere, from the beginning to the end.
Frame-rate is good enough on 060/50, the demo is perfectly enjoyable on the real thing! ;)

A very good one. Everything is perfect. Elude, keep up the good work.

Oh Kiero, I really like to see a thread of yours in which you will elaborate on these effects :D
As I already wrote on the pouet page, it sadly ended with what should have been the peak, followed by two more routines with a glimpse of colour.

The merit of this demo for me is that it now scratched on the surface of the modern PC effects (i.e. particles etc.).

In fact, with just a tad more 2D graphics and maybe a splash of color (although that might not even be necessary if the 2D grahics were slightly more pronounced), this would have been an almost perfect demo for me. I always hoped Elude would do a pure effect driven demo and this is exactly what i hoped for.

@z5:
"Minor points: could probably have done with a splash of color (certainly not much, but some shades of red maybe in a scene or two) and the 2D graphics are maybe a tad too subtle"

the original plan was exacly that. grayscale with one color in certain elements. but holidays don't help in demomaking process and we simply didn't have enough time and decided to put more work into effects.

well, just ask and i can explain some stuff. it's mostly lots of cheating and smart optimizations instead of cycle counting (which is also there obviously, but due to time constraints really alot of code is in plain C).

not my cup of tea

There's a live vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LvHpcEEjLg.

After this, i can't wait to see what's next for Elude. I hope you guys will continue doing amiga demos since you decided to do pc demos aswell. You would be severly missed on 68k if you decided to stop making amiga demos.
