Wow, this demo startled me with its amazing speed. In the days of 2x2 this stood out with some highres graphics running at high frame rates. Pretty cool objects in there aswell. Even though it seems at some point like another remake of the Authentik demo. If this was released nowadays, Id expect it to have more of a concept behind the graphics and sound though. Although nice the way it is, its a little bit too random to have a real style.

Well, since i managed to install Thug Life and watch it on my 68060 thanks to whdload, i have been getting into these Skarla (here under the Essence label) demos more and more again. That's why i changed my vote on this one from 3/5 to 4/5. Actually, Skarla is one of my favourite groups. Always loved the music by Marvin (which is just brilliant in Thug Life), always loved the cool graphics in Skarla demos and really great code by Jamie. Great stuff, still fresh in 2003 and still enjoy rewatching it. The world's most dangerous group!

Haven't seen much better 3D and other effects on 030. This is the one to show when showing what 030 is capable :)

same as with shaft7 , the party ruined the demos, read about it in my shaft7 comment.

also this demo when i first saw it, thats when i understood the hype but now...its dead boring yet damn fast!

Amazing effect, especially those 3D ones. Great music, very dark and really fits to the whole production. Though the demo is missing something... It really looks like a sequel to Authentic (on the other hand there are some remarks that it is Authentic II ;-)

Tres bien Jamie! Optimized.

@ loady
the party 1996 was the one where amiga coders first started releasing one-move-per-pixel texturers, thus giving a huge kick to speed.... all other "big" demos from this party thus featured fast unprecise texturers either at 1x1 in shaft7/bomb and this makaveli or 2x2 for added shader complexity like in endolymfa/balance

The env-bunny is very cute, and the rest of the demo kicks major ass. The effects run at an impressive framerate.
