Lots of work left but at least everything I've done so far worked on first attempt on my a600. \o/

Looks like I won't be sleeping after all if that makes you feel any better :-/

The code isn't that far off, but I'm now doing the remaining gfx tasks and then have a bunch of tweaks that are going to be a lot more work than I thought they would be. Better to get it done now and sleep on the plane, the only thing I really want to be changing at the party is the scroll text ;-)

RRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWRRRRRR! Code just hit 100%!!! :)

There are a couple of things I'm not totally happy with, but the amount of effort to fix what lasts about 5 seconds on screen just can't be justified considering the state I'm now in. I just need to pixel a hi-res font, write the scrolly, then pray the damn things still runs on the real deal hardware.

Bring on the compo :)

Paradroid: seems like we're the only amigaguys in oldschool demo (in addition to a bunch of lesser platforms of course..)
Best of luck to you...

I'm lucky to be in it.

I was finishing off the end part from my bed last night, but I think I lasted about 2 mins before passing out before I had a chance to set an alarm. I woke up late and had to submit an unfinished version, but was kindly allowed a couple of hours to get a finished build to them before they started the recordings. However, a couple of hours later I was looking at the Revision intranet site and saw I got a message, a message that I had become a victim of the GEMA rule and was disqualified!

We eventually got reinstated after I showed the organisers some communications that showed the musician in question had resigned from the affiliated organisation a couple of months ago. Phew!

Now I'm just hoping they recorded it properly as most of the demo is overscan - it would be a damn shame if they've cropped it to 320x256!!!

Only a couple of hours to wait now :-)

Stream decided to stop working right before the amiga compo and start working right after that same compo. Serves us right for being sofa lamers! Anyone know what was shown?

The 360p stream was the only one working. Watch out for the Dekadence intro :0)

It was well worth staying up for watching the demo stream. Thanks for the show everybody. And especially to Paradroid for a really proper oldschool Amiga demo.

Summary:
Two A500 demos shown in the oldschool demo compo: Lemon and Spaceballs. Special mention must go to Lemon for what is probably the record breaking longest comeback period ever: 20 odd years. Paradroid <3 (you haven't lost your attention for flow and transitions in those years) with Facet, Prowler, Nuke and Magnar.

How many intros were shown?

Had a very nice time last night. My demo is quite horribly unfinished and was handed in 17 minutes before the end of the very (very!) generously extended deadline and although it needs a final version I'm happy with the whole experience. :)
Got back to the hotel some time after 5 and have slept around 5h (still better than the 1.5h last night). This'll be an interesting day at the party... :)

I think I got 4 hours. Should have been 1 more, but I missed my bus stop, so the driver turned around and dropped me off only for me to fail to notice the change of direction. I went off on a merry journey into the dark, but google maps eventually saved me, lol

Thanks! and welcome :)

Now we just have to convince Paradroid that this shouldn't be his white whale in the sense that it's "the one prod he has planned for 20 years and it's all out of the system now".

Soooo.. Paradroid: "Nice attempt but I'm sure you can do better!" ;)

Bloody hell, I never thought I'd get the experience of witnessing a bonified first hand Lemon release on a party. That was just ... a lesson to be taken :D
STRAFF was as Spaceballs as it can possibly get. I totally dug the collision spheres and the very nice copper colours.
Awesome show.

I sort of gave up in the middle of the wild compo but then checked back and saw that neat scope demo that immediately grabbed my interest. Then i saw Abyss and Dexter appearing :) I always enjoyed Dexter's amiga stuff and Abyss in general. Hope to be able to watch it again as it looked neat. Abyss <3

Really cool releases so far. Massive stuff from Dekadence, Focus Design, Spaceballs and of course Lemon. Its a pity that I only could watch it via stream. Can't wait for the mainevent tonight... the Amiga-Demo-Compo. Cheers, d!RT!E

Awesome stuff again at Revision. Always makes me doubt if we should continue our own ECS demo. But well we got some parts ready and if we could only find the time to finilize the stuff ...

Thanks to everybody for making it a great easter weekend.

Unfortunately this year I had to be sofascener, baby become ill few days before the party, so no gfx and no "pepared demo" could be finished :(

Anyway I was watching the stream as much as I could and it was a great party especially because of:

Lemon = congrats for massive comeback! (7 CDCs on pouet)
Spaceballs = master of synch and rythm, I simply love your style
FD = keeping demo/intro in hi-level, perfect prods guys
Dekadence = got me back to Potion time
Moods = Skoda rulez
GHO and Blueberry = fantastic demo art
Elude = amazing 3D scenes !!!
H0ffman = insane track in compo, 3 or more music in intro/demos and absolutely astonishing life concert, you totally rule!

That explains a lot. I was sort of wondering if we would see something from Artway this year. Hope all is well with the baby now and maybe we'll see something from you guys in the future :)
