Hi. some 20 years ago, i released some intro's and other stuff on the Amiga scene, but was not "smart enough" to ensure that i kept a backup of the sources, gfx and music.
Now, i'm slowly starting to collect items, in which i had some things released, be it code, gfx or other stuff. But ofcourse i can only collect the Released items.
I would like to restore some of the source material, eg. rip the gfx, mod file and disassemble the source code.
So here come my question: Is there any way to decrunch a Titanic crunched file, as it would make the disassemble a little easier, instead of doing memory dumbs and so on.
also, which mod and gfx rippers would you recommend? and no, i dont want to "take a screenshot of winuae" running the file :) i would like to have the Original Iff gfx restored.

Found the answer shortly after posting here.
In the help for Titanics Cruncher, it says: If you try to crunch an already crunched file, it will be decrunched..
So simple load the file in Titanics cruncher, and it will decrunch the file for you :D
Still need some advice on good gfx and mod rippers, and also some hints on a good disassembler. as reading a 750kb file you created some 20 years ago, and making sense of it all, is a pretty daunting task.

Hi, there's a recent ripper called XoXoYou can also find a little post on EAB that talk about several disk, graphic, music ripper and even a bootable disk.

but i used to be: SCA / Polka Brothers / Puzzle / Team71 http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/author.php?id=14582
with that said, i don't plan on doing any release under the old group name / handle, as i don't want to get peoples hopes up, or set the bar to high. (the group name that being, not my own releases from the past), i'm mostly just poking around to have some fun again.
and no, i don't have contact with any of the old members of the group. :)

You were part of one of my alltime favourite groups :) Just watched Bobble Trouble and enjoyed it a lot (minus the anim...). Always enjoyed that fast, nicely synched Polka style and effects.
Makes sense not to release under the old group name. But who cares about setting bars high or creating expectations at this point? As long as you have fun creating stuff, seems like the most important part.

Thank you again. i enjoyed creating Bobble Trouble, as it was made for the fun of it. the code is not that advanced, but the pace a sync made the whole thing a little enjoyable.
And yeah, sorry about the animation, it was made by Dize/Silents. Then Devilstar kinda talked me into using it for the Demo/Dentro. looking back now, it was a little distasteful, and i do kinda regret it a little, as i did want to show my stuff to the kids, but could not do that because of this animation :) But i do remember some English magazine quoting the text though "Excuse me beavis i think......"
with regards to setting the bar to high, that is more for myself, as i know if i set the bar to high, i will lose interest and quit it all together. so i'm taking it slow, and see where it leads me, i still got a lot to re-learn, but i it's easier to learn it the second time around :)

Good luck getting back into the game. Btw...I was one of the organizers behind the South Sealand parties where Polka released some nice things. I returned to the scene in 2007, and still release under the Focus Design label (but back then in the nineties FD didn't set any bars at any height :-D ) and is one of the 3-4 still active DK based demoprogrammers. So we are an endangered species :-)

Hi Corial South sealand party 94, was properly the best party i ever went to. it was the perfect size, and it was nice that Polka and Virtual dreams got a little VIP treatment, where we got our own classrooms for coding :D
To bad my Demo bugged out on the bigscreen when shown in the Compo :)
If i remember correctly, Dr. Skull and the rest of Virtual Dreams, HAD to win the demo Compo, as that was the only way they could afford their planned backpack trip through europe. if they did'nt win, they could barely afford tickets to get home from denmark. But ofcourse they won with the demo "Love"
And after the South sealand party, we had a party with the Virtual Dreams team (they only drank pure vodka, finnish freaks :D). and then brought Dr. skull back to my place in Aalborg, where he meet up with Tsunami and we had yet another party... Great times :)
South sealand party 94 always have a special place in my memories, for being the best party i ever attended. I had gone to other parties like TP3-4-5, but they where to big. SS94 had the perfect size, where you got to talk to all guests. great job :)

I too have fond memories of South Sealand. I didn't remember that your demo crashed, but I do remember that VD really needed the money for their journey :-). South Sealand 94 was also the year where we, the organizers, payed entrance fee ourselves in order to give good prizemoney. In 94 the party didn't have that many visitors so we had to do something. There's 1 party left in Denmark and that's trsac.dk. It's held in October and has a cozy atmosphere.
