_z5: Don't you close these threads ! It's like having a peek at the pit-lane of the Amiga Formula 1 circus, teams warming up, preparing to present the hopefully most awesome shows for the upcoming Easter Party :D progress ... actually this scene is done ( cut & print )

I was joking :) Wouldn't want to miss this traditional pre-party rush to the finish. In the meantime, i'll just relax and enjoy the nice spring weather... of frost and snow.

Intro almost done now. Pretty soon I'll begin working on the annual Depth compofiller. Traditions, traditions....

We have a spare bed at Hotel Crystal. If you or someone you know needs somewhere to sleep, just tell me at wasp at 10-4.se. You'll be staying with three Swedish guys: me, deadguy and Bamse. The bed is 117 EUR (39 EUR per night). The party is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

We are (time spent so far)/(time spent so far + available time until deadline) * 100 % finished. Which is much better than usual at this point in time. :)

A small preview of our prod:

All scenes filled with content, the tune is almost finished. All it needs is more palette polishing and more greets and the credits

Rocks! Plenty of time to have some fine beers then!

d0DgE: that means you have time to enter the tracking competition then?!

Mate, I still burdened myself with a tiny intro in addition to the full size project. Haven't seriously tracked since Evoke ... 2007 I think.

Got a nasty bug of bugs here and it's eating up my precious dev time, grrrrr!
It's a major gfx corruption but it only appears on real A500 & A500+ hardware, not the A1200 (which has other known problems, but I'll deal with that next week) or any emulator. Takes about 7.5 minutes to build and transfer to disk, then I have to watch the demo all the way through as it's the very last screen of the main part that is broken. I really wish I could get my snasm kit working for live debugging as this is taking ages...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, back to it. I feel better just from moaning about it at people other than my wife, lol :-P

Heh, I haven't tested anything on real hardware yet but that tends to "just work out fine". Other than that there is some progress although it's not exactly going as fast as I'd like. Still hoping the last night before the deadline won't be too nightmarish. :)

Pfft, the luxury of a Sunday deadline! Us real men have the oldschool saturday deadline to deal with! ;) Coincidentally this leaves more time for partying. :)

Not to speak about the poor intro guys that have Saturday 00:00

I took a break from that bug to get on with content and when I came back to it this morning found the bug had gone! I've got all my updates versioned in a perforce depot so I'm now back with the old code again for a while - I don't want the corruption magically reappearing when I don't have hardware with me for testing! :-/ It happens on multiple machines, so unlikely to be a hardware fault (had one of those when helping out on the game Blastar - a bug I found just didn't make any sense until I opened the trapdoor for some reason and a capacitor fell out -_-), it seems to be an interaction between two separate parts of the demo even though they "should not" be going anywhere each other or running in the same frame. Pffft, I'll get there in the end, I just wish I'd had a few more hours of sleep as it would probably get found a whole lot faster. Angry Retired Bastard: Coincidentally this leaves more time for partying. :) I'd not thought about it like that, thanks for cheering me up +10 :)

I'm going to bring my lovely A600 to Revision, if you need to test things with a 68k machine.

Whoa, seems like our prod is going to make it, at least in some form. Even runs on real hardware :D

In lack of a mod contribution I'm modding a 15" TV to bring to the party. It's all plastic and who needs speakers or sidepanels anyways, right? Flying with Ryanair sometimes literally means cutting corners. Hopefully it will fit in the cabin luggage when I'm done cutting.

Data invasion \o/. Revision sure is getting closer.
Stats here: Not too serious intro: 90% More serious intro: 99,8%
Meaning....more party than your mom's dwarf!

Paradroid: great! Hopefully it'll just work first time and I won't be back every ten minutes, lol :) Don't worry, its quite easy and quick to transfer an executable to my a600 (about 0.5-1 min or so) =)

How are you transfering files so fast? Btw, my demo isn't an exe, it's a trackmo. That means i'll need to transfer an adf file to a real floppy. I'll be bringing the cables/software to do that if you don't already have a way of doing it.

Leaving-for-the-bus status:
Our demo is about as finished now as Human Traffic was when we delivered it. :)
Some important optimizations, a few minor effect elements and a good deal of animation and palette work remaining.
Ah, and getting the demo below 20MB. ;)

There will hardly be any partycoding left, when your busride is over.

I'll be bringing the cables/software to do that if you don't already have a way of doing it. I'm using xCode with vasm when I'm developing for Amiga 500. So my goal was to have an portable Amiga who is (or in worst case mimics) an A500/A500+ and is very easy to transfer data to. It ended up with an Amiga 600 with an IDE to SD-card interface and a Floppy to SD-card interface, fastmem to PCMCIA and other small hacks. This makes it very easy to transfer an executable to my Amiga via either the IDE to SD-card interface or an ADF to the Floppy to SD-card interface (the ADF needs to be converted to a format that the interface can read, but it takes few seconds). So no need for unreliable floppy disks, and ADF to floppy disk conversions etc.. Anywho, pretty cool with trackmo. Personally have no experience with trackmos (yet) =). Looking forward to see it on bigscreen =D

I've just started writing the end part, but there is only 3kb left on the disk! Lucky that I cut a couple of effects or I'd be in a world of trouble right now :-P
Not a major problem right now. The music and gfx for the end part are already on the disk, plus I can still grab the root block sectors for a little extra if needed - I've only left those empty as my dev setup gets annoyed if an invalid dos disk is present.
I might actually get some sleep tonight :)
