Hi All, I used to be in the group The Silents and still have all my old disks (approximately 2000) whats the chances of them still working and does anyone want them to transfer to a format we can all see now. Got to be honest this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity with many rare comps, music disks, demos, cracktros etc etc. IF they still all work. I can send out to anyone as long as postage is paid, but bear in mind theres a lot to send out so perhaps it would be best to send in batches? They span from about 87-92. I imagine that Curt Cool would be very interested in such a collection. Preserving old Amiga stuff is a passionate hobby of his, as far as I understand.

I am not entirely sure which email address he uses currently, but you can try curtcool a depth dot org or frank a minverden dot dk.

Think I got it covered, theres two guys in Norway i have had contact me and we are just finalising the logistics of it all. 2013 it should all be made public, periodically I will sending them batches of all the old scene comps, intros, etc. "its er (potentially) going to be a very very big hit"

Little update - I have been manically getting all my disks dumped with Kryoflux - I have done approximately 1000 disks so far and Menace from Spaceballs is in receipt of them. It turned out sending 70 to Norway was about £40 so they sent me the Kryoflux and the rest is history. It is likely that this project won't be ready for quite some time though as there are a load more to do, however Menace confirmed much of the disks are previously unavailable so this should be an unparalleled injection into the scene. What has been quite cool is I have added a photograph of each disk to the rips and some of them show signs of being recycled round the scene and have bits crossed out, others have evidence of stickers being stuck over old cover disks etc.

Good stuff, Aero! Maybe one day I will find that missing D.O.C fun-demo that I think I remember had an animated christmas band in it from your disks ;)

Unfortunately I don't recall that one but you never know :o( looking at the stuff available on other sites I am filling in a load of gaps with comps from Slipstream, Scoopex, LSD, Intuition, Anarchy, Cyrus etc as well of a ton of other stuff. I never went over much so its pretty much all as and when I was active. If anyone is after anything in particular I can probably sort some thing out but the bulk of the dumps are going via the Spaceballs Norway lot. I think I also have a few Amiga magazines, I'll try and scan and make a PDF, might bring back some memories!

Looking forward to seeing it all linked up on the Internet when it is done. Could be ideal for the winter break. Please keep going!
