I just noticed that the old amycoders homepage looks a bit broken: http://membres.lycos.fr/amycoders/. Looks like the server got a php "upgrade". Is anybody still taking care of this? Tolkien?

Hmm, one year later the site is always fucked down...

Are they any other sites like amycoders nowadays ? I find several Amiga dev sites, but mostly they are all more system friendly using C, E... than scene friendly using asm, hacking copper and raping blitter... ;-)

I still got the partial back up of the site/contribs on one of my machine, will put it somewhere very soon if that's of interest.
The lycos website is completely fucked up, they screwed up like 50% of the accounts when they did some maintenance work, and we were all unable to log in. But lycos webhosting is dead for several years now!..

Probably it can be useful to put it somewhere on ADA ? ADA seems the most centralized amiga sceners place (or I miss the other ones ;-) ), and well it's "Amiga demoscene archive", amycoders was a part of "Amiga demoscene", so...

z5 what do you think about it ? You think it can be possible ? (The hard part is to change the original design to match the cool ADA design...)

(And well, who know, that can motivate some people to write more new articles/tutorials/sources ;-) )

More articles would be great! I really like the content of amycoders website.
@z5: an article section would be nice on ADA, we could put amycoders stuff there first, and there may be more articles in the future.
I also have some amycoders backups if necessary.

it would be great if ADA were someday, somehow extended to include a coding wiki. ADA's menu bar is just begging to have a "Code Wiki" link.

I had a 2nd website I was starting up on Lycos, until they messed up their site around 5 years ago. Geocities has officially closed too, so my main website hasn't been updated in years.

Once I release my upcoming demo, maybe I'll get some webspace again.

It's certainly worth considering. Though i wonder if the forum isn't a better place to incorporate the amycoder tutorials? Also, it's worth mentioning that Klipper started an amiga coding wiki but the interest in it sort of faded away rather quickly. Which makes me wonder if there is genuine interest?

Once/if development behind this site restarts, then it will surely be considered.

@z5_: I personally don't like tutorials inserted in forums, because they are not easily reachable.
It is ok if people in a forum comment a tutorial, but I prefer to be able to read the tutorial in a separate page, easily accessable (forum threads change positions in time) and not necessairily accompained with comments, which may be useless or even misleading when given by not expert people.

Cool, I've see that klipper have the site aca.untergrund.net with aca meaning amiga code archive, but well it's currently an empty page.

Klipper: if you always get the access (admin?) of this domain you think it can be possible to put the original Amycoders homepage here (with the help of kufa, endo... with some luck it can be fully reconstructed :-) ).

Also, I'm like thedarkcoder, I prefer reading articles in separate/classified page, and well, I'm not fan of a wiki site too. But I think forums and a site can be complementary. Forums are a really good points for starting any coding questions, and actually discussions can be transformed to some good tutorials/articles if needed (if someone get the motivation to transform it, the hardest part!!).

If klipper always get access to aca.untergrund.net it can be used, but not like a wiki site, more like what was amycoders: articles are validated and classified by one/several admins/moderators, making sure of having only high quality scene articles available on the site (meaning also few updates, but only for important/really cool things), all other things can be kept in the forum.

There is also the www.amigacoding.com website started by Spellcoder. It is mainly for coding in AMOS and assembler. I am helping to update the AMOS side, but am behind in my work :(

It's still a cool site, but is regularly getting abused by spammers. Main contributors are myself, Samurai Crow and Spellcoder (owner). Wiki's are not the way to go, unless you have heavy moderation.

Lycos seems to have shut down all membres.multimania.fr accounts.

With permission from Kufa the site was moved to http://amycoders.org

All data besides the old news could be saved.
