I wish we still got demos like this on a stock 1200 or 500:-

I would love to see what a stock 500/1200 could do now if people continued to target these machines to this day. Surley demos like Arte and Nexus 7 could be beaten !

i'm quite agree... instead of making absolutely C2P Demos with 3D cinematic, it shoulld be possible to make some good design/synchro and "oldskool" effect... even if it's not easy to find new ideas...

How do zoomers work on the c64 ? I know c64 has a chunky mode but it must be to slow to plot each pixel so how does the demo do those zoomers ?

Ahem, the c64 does NOT have a chunky-mode (unless you count the character-mode which gives you a 40x25 "chunky"mode).

I think it's done like they used to do on amiga, by shifting pixel segments. On amiga it's done with the bitplane shift register, on c64 they probably have each tile and it's shifted variations stored in memory.

I totally concur on the "vanilla" issue.
What I'm dreaming of is presenting stuff in "newschool" look but done with
the very hardware.
That's why I loved those plain vanilla releases by Nature :)
