I would love to see some of the Amigas top coders creating videos like this one:-

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xDUFPlLvCuw

Would be great to see some of their effects that have never been released before that are lying around on there hard disks. Maybe some released effects but running with different parameters or different textures etc.

Just record a video in Winuae and upload to www.youtube.com. The quality is to low to copy any code :0)

Nice routines in there. One effect seems exactly the same as Lola / Fresh Prince (the one with the commodore texture).

It was actually that very intro which inspired me. I wrote all this code way back sometime around 1995 in my teens and I was hardly a top coder, all the stuff I wrote I had learned from trial and error and sometimes from disassembling the intros I could download from the local BBS. I remember it took me a while before I finally figured out how they had done this effect and how simple it really was, two sets of four bitplanes with a radial pattern and the 16*16 texture written into the 256 color registers. Obviously I had to try it out with the Commodore logo too. Sweet nostalgia.

I uploaded these routines and some other stuff above. The code isn't fancy or elegant, and it probably won't run on anything but an unexpanded A1200, but you're more than welcome to play around with it.

Thanks for your comments!

Of course! Its so simple yet so brilliant. I would never have thought of that.

Welcome ZEROblue!

Pity you didn't make a demo out of your routines. You had enough for an enjoyable demo.

ZEROblue great you found this place.

The idea for the Commodore Logo effect is great a bit similar to the idea for the Roots 1*1 Rotator. Almost no processing required for this effect either just a bit of hardware scrolling.
