how can I upload in to Winuae the file that I downloaded here (lha)
to watch demo on PC?

decruch the .lha using winace or wincommander. then look for a kickrom its needed to start the emulator !!! kickrom 3.1 is the actual version.
install winuae, choose quickstart/model/1200. then put the right paths to the rom and use the directory where your .lha was decrunched as harddisk. dont forget to give the virtual machine some fastram. if you start your emulation now, a screen with a prompt will appear. this works like a shell in linux or a dos command line. means you may now write the name of the file you will execute and hit enter!

If it's a single file, you can just attach it as diskimage, it will be started automagically then. Just make sure you enable show all files in the filerequester as it else would only should you .adf/.adz files.

If you don't have any ROM images then search for Amiga Forever and buy AF2006 DVD's. They have all the official ROM images and is the only way to obtain them 100% legally.

PS. WinUAE will also autodecrunch any DMS disk images before running too :)

Actually it is not the only way. If you own a real Amiga, you have the right to use the particular version of the ROM which that Amiga has.

Some people claim that you are not allowed to have the emulator and the real Amiga running at the same time, since you would then be using two copies of the ROM at the same time. Hey, get a grip... ;-)

Yeah, it is legal to own a ROM image of one you own (does it have to be working?), but how you acquire it may be considered illegal??

Also I have found that WinRAR (I have a free/demo version) on Windows 2K will happily decrunch LHA files, but seems to refuse to create (or add to) them.

Well it depends on the country you live in. There's no european law for that, so your country's laws take predominance even on the EULA you might have in the software you use/copy.

In practise and especially for amiga: who gives the shit? :) Noone will sue you for sure for ~20 years old rom / softwares..

They made new laws again? Silly Germans. Hope they're not serious about it. :/ But anyway, yeah, it's not like anyone cares in this case.

Apparently somebody cares. Some years back, it was very easy to find Amiga ROM images on the net. Nowadays, all you find is people saying that they cannot provide the ROMs for copyright reasons. Somebody (i.e. the current copyright holders) must have asked them to stop distributing them, or at least made it globally clear that they do care.

Either that, or the people spreading those ROMs thought of them as abandonware until Amiga Inc. started making announcements about OS4.
