I'm looking forward to seeing all of your releases! Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to Saarbrücken this year, but I'll definitely be sofa scening really hard during the compos! Pants will probably be off as well.

Good luck to the lot of y'allz!

I second Mr.Wasp! Got a few non-scene activities planned for this Easter, but I'm hoping to catch the Amiga compos over the stream. No FD stuff this time, but we're not dead....just making stuff for other parties.

@corial: so you are really not going this year then. No FD production yet in 2015 too. I hope that FD will return in full force later this year though.

@dodge: curious who the mystery grapician is :)

This thread was a lot less active and fun than previous years. But that doesn't mean anything for Revision itself so there might be a lot of suprises (haven't heard any though). It's going to be interesting for sure but i don't expect many amiga releases.

Going to miss Revision this year as well - for the first time. Due to my trip to west Africa it will be difficult as hell to see the stream also =(.

Anywho, good luck to you all!

As we did experience now for several times, there's always going to be a year or two with less activity.
Life keeps changing, and ever more demanding. And this year, 30th Amiga anniversary will draft many a release toward other specialised competitions/events ... probably.
Then again, a lot of party people have become "Expectators" rather than spectators, or god forbid even acteurs ( not you, z5, you stepped into the ring twice and maintain this hub).

Sometimes I don't get it why ? There are formidable toolchains out there, the magic cat is out of the bag. Amiga demo coding ist not "rocket science". There's a ton of folks fiddling around with Amiga assembler but mostly ending up in endless optimising or just proving a (futile) concept.

To top it all off, there's still this crowd of "neo oldschool hipsters" that want to re-create the old crack intro style (see flashtro.com) and honestly wanting to use the Demo/Intromaker tools of that era.

...darn...ranting again ... back to work

- hoping to reach beta state this weekend (it's not like we've got any choice now, eh?)
- sucker finally runs on the 500 after shoveling "manure" into public ram
- now it's mostly copper palettes, styling, synching, transitions

My guess is that the biggest surprise this year will be joint Amiga demo compo for AGA & OCS machines.

Anyway, i just hear if an a500 demo works on the a1200 compo machine the a500 demo can take part in the AMIGA demo compo. It doesnt have to be in oldskool compo than ;)

I for one wouldn't have it any other way :)
Never was completely comfortable with OCS demos in the "Oldschool Demo Compo".

And yes, if the thing runs on the high-end Amiga it can attend the Amiga Demo compo

Indeed, that became a little too much and I was quite tired of demomaking in the end, let me tell you that! Therefore, only 1 production planned for 2015...maybe two if I really feel for it. Can't / won't devote so much time on demomaking anymore due to reallife. Then rather reduce the number of productions and have a good time with it....afterall, it's just a hobby.

Until just a few weeks ago, I thought this would be a quiet, relaxed Revision for me with no releases. Now it looks like I will be having two - plus a hand in Hoffman's oldskool music. :)

The first one - a Wishful Twisting remix for the 120Hz compo - is already submitted. I must say I didn't expect to ever deliver something 4 days before the deadline. ;)

Anyway, the main release is of course the oldskool 4k, which is well on its way. Music done (apart from minor adjustments). Code mostly done (just a few improvements on last year's engine). Lot's of scripting to do still.

Have the feeling I'm going to have a note with a similar text taped to my back.
The musical genre chosen for this here production is definitely not up Novel's ally, binding me part-time'ish to the tracker department, too.
One scene to colour and design to reach beta state.

41k done on the 64k intro, current parts still need polishing and two parts are completely missing. Let's see if I can do without partycoding this year.

Come on, somehow we all solemly vowe to "never partycode again" ... and yet, it always turns out to end up in deadline mayhem.
The only time this worked out for me was Breakpoint 2009 with "Wasted Years".

Well, just finished designing the probably most complex scene ... palette massacre, but it's "cut & print".
Comitting the current state to the svn (on the Amiga o/ ) and take a dinner-break.

...at least the pre-party beer has been bought today, so we can make a checkmark on that issue :)

btw, there are few of us amiga sceners (organised around ocs/ecs fb group) arranged that we all sit together. currently there are around 15 people on board.

if you're interested to join us, please let me know how much sitting space/tables would you need. (whole groups more than welcome)

we'll try to get in early and find a free space that will accommodate us all.
have in mind that this is all based on personal best effort, nothing will be allocated from orgas, so no promises.

4040 bytes. First four parts in rough shape. Two more parts missing. And details. And colors. And more colors. And some size optimization, it seems. :)
