I will try to keep a bit of history of changes done to the site (apart from demo additions) here in this topic.

Today, i added a field to each demo: "added to A.D.A on:". You can see it on each demopage, above the "other demos by this group(s) (x in total):"

Not so interesting for the visitors, but there is a bit of a story behind it. When A.D.A database was created, there weren't many timestamps added. There weren't any on the demo table so i lost track of when a demo was added to A.D.A. On top of that, i never kept the newspages so i had no clue anymore as to anything A.D.A related before a month ago.

Now, i managed to recreate the complete newspages of A.D.A, thanks to www.webarchive.org and www.amigafuture.de. So i was finally able to add a timestamp to each demo. Never expected i would be able to retrieve all this info so for me it's quite a relief.

If you want to see how it all started, check first news page. The graphics are missing though.

Changes done on 5/05/2005:
I always wondered about my credits system (code, graphics,...). It was good in a sense that i could be very specific (for example Adam (title picture), Jazzcat (first part music)...) but it wasn't flexible in a way that i couldn't sort and do all kind of neat SQL tricks.

However, after seeing both Dalton's GBA demo site and Eurochart in action, i decided to finally change the system, which will allow to extract more out of the database in future.

Some random thoughts:
- a table with about 950 sceners was created. 950 people who contributed in one way or another to the 492 demos on A.D.A. That is more than i expected.

- a table with 2501 credits was inserted... i feel slightly sick now :)

- Loaderror, Kierownik and Kalms: their brain is propably surgically wired to some sort of device that generates code while they sleep. The amount of code produced by those 3 coders is enormous. In fact, the quality of their work is fantastic aswell. Practise does seem to make perfect.

- There was a period that nearly any demo's music was done by Muffler.

- Ubik and Def are modelling monsters.

- Azzaro is a graphics machine and so is Louie.

- people using different nicks suck... different people using the same nick sucks even more.

Expect some interesting stuff being generated from this, but not right away. It need to take a break :)

Oh, and if someone happens to read this, should i consider "objects" the same as "3D"? The rest of the questions will be posted later.

In the user profile, in the votes thingie, i added a "non voted" option in the dropdown. So now you can see which productions you haven't voted on yet :o)
