Music for the 64k intro was finished last week. Thankfully last night I managed to get over the initial creative hump for the Amiga Demo music but still a LOT of work to do. Once that's done then it's music compo entries!

I've got swirly dots on my screen too :)

It was the final day of my work contract yesterday and the company wanted me to renew, but I told them I had a demo to write :P I eventually agreed to a part time gig so I could help out with nasty bugs, but at least I've had the whole of today to myself, YAY! Saying that, my whole morning was spent on reorganising memory just so I could free up an extra 4k for the music - I prefer dealing with dots :P

I've had a week of absence from intromaking due to some certification stuff. Will return to the keys tonight I think.Still need to make 2 effects and kick Malmix' butt.First, however,I need to kick myself to get things done,so Malmix can take over next.As always, things are probably going to get a little tight.

@paradroid: nice to see that you've got your priorities sorted :)

@corial: as always, looking forward to it!

Seriously, a big <3 to all people preparing something demo related for Amiga and other platforms!

Paradroid: does this mean you have a brand new module written by nuke aka spaceman ?

Yup, with Spaceman's module we would have a proper Lemon. comeback :) And imagine Paradroid's demo with 4-Mat's track... (drumroll) - it will mean the rebirth of Anarchy!

I'm super excited to see all these demos. Keep the spirit, lads! And remember - do demos at home, not at the party :)

Nuke isn't working on the main track as he is very busy with work and family, but there may be an old unreleased tune or two sneaked in depending on how much I can get done - at least we think they're unreleased, our aged memories might have just forgotten about it, lol They're not listed in any mod database, so I think we're okay.

Right then, back to my dots!

@Corial: nope, it'll be an AGA demo but classic technique, no C2P. That means severe hassle with AGA palettes (16 colour banks á 32 register values with 256 8bit colour values split into 4bit nibbles ...WHAAAAAARGH!!!) and 8 biplanes.

Wow, rumours on Anarchy and Lemon comeback. Looking forward to see/hear all this fresh Amiga stuff.

And dodge: go go go! It looks very promising at this point.

Wow, rumours on Anarchy and Lemon comeback.

I can vouch for the Lemon. part of that rumour, but Anarchy? Or you know something I don't? :)

Less than 3 weeks to go, ZOMG!!! I'm currently looking at a screen full of corruption. However, the music is also sounding very bizarre, so that's at least a clue as to where my blits have ended up, lol :P

PS. I'll be finalising the greets section tonight, but having been out of the scene for quite some time I could do with a few more names to stick on the list. Give me your (amiga) group names and I'll make sure to say hi :)

A teaser for our demo:

Is it real, or is it just a bunch of file names?

A teaser for our demo:

Cool! "No errors", so not even a single bug then.. ;) "fieldsmoke" sounds interesting depending on what it might be.. :P

Btw, thinking of our discussion at DS.. I've been busy with some serious overhaul on my old smoke simulation with some really good results - it's a whole new beast already! :)))
...though I still can't say if I'll manage to reach my target in time for Revision. (From it's current state it can be further optimized to process 5-10 times more data, and there might be a way to get 1x1 @ 50 FPS too.)

In any case, the hardest part will be steering the simulation - e.g. from GNURocket. I need to translate "humane" parameters to the inhumane ones the simulation requires, which (surprisingly) is more difficult than it sounds!

@Raylight: are you one of those (coders) who always optimise and therefor rarely releases anything? :) There was a discussion about this topic a while ago here. Please stop optimising and release something so we can enjoy it :) Do you have plans for revision? If yes, then i hope you release something! Would be great.

@Blueberry: particles, fieldsmoke, CloudMachine! Sounds awesome. Glad you found your motivation again!

@bstrr: sounds great. It's going to be a good one!

@z5: hehe, not really, many of the effects that's been released is not very optimized at all.. :) I love optimizing stuff and in an ideal world, I'd optimize things to perfection and then some.. but deadlines usually put an end to such activities. If I reach a target framerate/resolution/etc with some margin I usually stop there, if I can't see an easy way to double the framerate or so.. ;) However, if I can make something cool run several times faster/better I sure wouldn't wanna release it as is!

The real reason for rare releases would probably be me constantly getting so many new ideas, pushing back older ones.. :D

Go go go Britelite! Easter would not be the same without at least one supergroup/rno/dekadence/insert other group production. Are you doing the traditional week off to finish stuff before Revision? I hope you can finish your demo.

Good luck, dodge. I'm sure the end result will be worth the hard work you have put into the project. In a strange way, i wish i was on the other side too, preparing a prod while cursing assembler... Or maybe not :)
