Oh, btw... Maybe some coder could help us out to make an ahx pack? We have music, gfx and design done. Nothing really fancy here - a simple menu and perhaps a scroll and we want it to target AGA machines only. We could have a "fake" additional compo entry this way.

The demo is near of end, tomorrow we will have the first release. All optimization are not finish but some scene run at an impressive framerate. We have a big problem, i can't quit the territory because i'm waiting my new work permit, Norm is busy and i have no news from Marvin, fuck fuck.

The weather forecast for the easter days went on the news in Germany. We will moxt likely have some BANG UP SUMMER WEATHER !!!! Since Saarbrücken locates in the south-west area, it might even exceed 28°C \o/

@jamie2010: great news. So close now. Have you found a solution to deliver the demo to the party? Iirc, somebody from the makers has to be present at the party to deliver the demo.

Yep Marvin will be at the party.

Is there a separate compo for amiga 4k or wasn't there any 4k submitted?
|

there is only an oldskool 4k compo, which will be on the air tomorrow.

Iirc, there were 5 demos in the amiga compo: - trsi - dekadence - skarla - ghostown & loonies - elude From watching most compos, i've got the impression that the number of entries in general was lower than last year (also in pc demo and 4k compo). Anyway, very much looking forward to rewatching the amiga demos. Edit: entries are up for download here

Anyone got any tips to run the Skarla demo in Winuae. I tried 2.3.1 and different combinations but always end up with a black screen after the first picture?
I will not be able to add the Revision stuff this week to the site. With new releases, i always try to add them as fast as possible but it can't be helped this time unfortunately.

Hi z5,
I tested the demo on the last winuae and it was good, i have really no idea why it doesn't work on your config. The demo need only 10 megas, i will try to debug this tomorrow, sorry for this bug:(

Pretty massive show indeed! ;) Great code and execution! Dunno why, but In the end I was left with this feeling of something being...massive? ;D Now, tech-review: first it refused to run from Workbench in hires/multisync screenmode, then I switched to a clean boot with no startup-seq with just setpatch (yeah, I'm talking 'bout real hardware here! :) ) Any chance to fix the startup code in order to get the thing run from multisync (Euro36, Euro72, whatever) screens?

I use real hardware too:) I will try to fix this too, sometimes it's hard to fix something on hardware that you donMt have.
For winuae i used the 2.2.0 version, after this release massive and ride didn't work but it seems to be fixed with the last version.

Really great prods from what I've seen from the live stream. The demo compo was specially cool with high level prods !
Congrats to all amiga pr0n teams that have participated to this cool event ! (And thanx to the live stream for people like me that can't be there !!)

@d0DgE, well our little experiment of not spending easter in Germany for the first time in ten odd years ended in tears. As Todi said, Easter at home is basically like Christmas without the sausages, dull =).
Very high quality in the Amiga demo compo, delighted to see Blueberry coding a demo, Skarla making me embarrassed calling myself a coder and Elude continuing the brilliant path they set out on with the release of Dust, design, effects, not trying to do a "story" but rather convey an atmosphere. Very much enjoyed Decadence demo as well, am I correct thinking it being a Swansong for Decadence but not for Britelite? Haven't had the time to watch the intro's yet but will get onto that later this week. Hats of to everyone participating in the compos.

@Jamie: Bonkers is making a compliment...
@Bonkers: i'll rephrase the sentence a bit: Easter without a Tulou and/or Nature Traktor production isn't the same either :)

I find you nice when you said direct and frank feedback. In general and not only for our case the most negative feedback is always give by people who do nothing for the demoscene.
The end of the project was really not fun, the code is totally unfinished, it was not possible to quit the territory for going to the party and the comments on the demo are the worst that we had.
Again, All my excuse Bonkers for my error !!!! And Z5 stop to be a sissy and start your comeback:)

@jamie: sorry, i deleted my post since it felt as i was giving advice to an experienced demogroup like Skarla, with numerous great demos behind their name and it felt a bit ridiculous :)
After taking a break from it all, i'm sure you'll look at it from a more positive perspective. Coming back after so many years must not have been easy at all, combined with real life, work, family and all other things that weren't there when younger. I for one think it's fantastic that you managed to release the demo and i hope you'll find enjoyment and motivation to continue. Somebody (who's opinion i value a lot) once said to me: demomaking is about having fun, regardless of comments from people.
Who knows, in a few weeks time, you'll feel motivated again to finish your code and perhaps embark on a new demo adventure :)

This easter all demos were awesome... I felt a little sad after watching Britelite's Swansong when thinking about no more demos from him for some time, I hope that his break doesn't last forever and that he comes back stronger than ever with beautiful demos as this one and the others he got us used to. And more A500 demos! :-)
Jamie, your demo really shined, the scene of the falling bunnies kept me drooling... like Britelite screamed... "I want a son of you!" :-D

@Jamie, missed your comments, but just want to make it perfectly clear that it was a compliment, watching your demo gave me the thrills, absolutely lovely. As for constructive criticism, don't mind what the pouet crowd says I've stopped posting there because its become such a negative forum full of people who really have no clue what they are talking about. Just look at the comments by Wade on massive saying that its not technically impressive on a 060, seeing that just made me laugh. The good thing though is that we don't need that bollocks, ADA is where the Amiga scene is at. As soon as the demo is posted here there will be comments that are worth taking seriously.
Also thanks for the greetings to Tulou in the demo, very much appreciated.
