http://pagesperso-orange.fr/franck.charlet/PtPack. zipPtPack is a Windows based protracker (.mod) modules packer.
It's specifically geared to create 32k executable music files
but can be used in any productions by using the generated .pta file
(which is the module converted) with the replay.asm located in dats
directory.
The packer isn't made to produce the smallest modules in memory like
for eg. the player 6 but rather have them being more compressible
and take as few bytes as possible in the final exe size so they can be used
in small sized productions while keeping a decent audio quality
(which isn't the case when using the player 6's packed samples);
That's why the generated .pta files are almost as big as their .mod
counter parts but significantly smaller once packed.
How to use: simply drag'n'drop your module file into PtPack.exe
or use it with a line command window.
Look at test.asm for an example about how to use the replay.
That tool was used a couple of time by Chromag and DJ joge
during some Breakpoint 32k exe oldschool music compos, thanks to them.
Note: i don't know if it works on 68060 based machines.
Have fun,
h.
