Today, i came across this video: Crionics on the Amiga on TV. It features an interview with coders The Spy, Murphy and Deftronic of Crionics. Sadly, i don't understand a word from it (it's in danish i think). However, it's cool to put some faces behind my childhood heroes. The spy and Deftronic not only had very cool nicks, but they coded one of my all-time favourite demo ever (Hardwired).

Notice the original interview style from Deftronic, sitting with his back to the camera :o)

Z5: it is indeed in Danish. I'm Danish and I can tell that the interview is mostly concerced about telling about what copyparties are and what demos are. It was really cool to see the faces of my heroes, thanks a lot for the link!!!

It's not really too interesting what they have to say. They explain the interviewer what you do at copyparties: code till you drop, and "some just attend to get completely drunk like Scoopex from Finland". You see videos from the Kefrens party in Nykøbing/Denmark held many years ago. Actually I grew up not too far away from Nykøbing, but the party was held before I knew what demos were :(

The girl in the interview is the girlfriend of The Spy, and she tells us that it is pretty annoying that Spy does not show up at their dates, because he is sleeping (thanks to long nights of coding). They talk about entering the gameindutri, and that they don't really have any message in the games they want to make: they just have to be better than any other game, Deftronic adds.

@Z5: yep, they work for io interactive. I heard somewhere that The Spy and Deftronic apparantly live in Cyprus now. Guess it's due to our crazy taxes in Denmark.

Btw. If you want to know what other of the old heroes do, try to look up Søren Hannibal. This guy is behind Global Trash (as Sunjohn), 3d Demo, 3d demo 2 made for The Silents and for Anarchy....I seriously doubt that you don't know who he is :).

@corial:
Moby games puts him at Shiny Entertainment (The Matrix games,...).

Actually, there was an interesting article at 4sceners which covers sceners doing work in game companies. I was amazed at the amount of sceners at DICE (Digital Illusions). I knew that Digitial Illusions was founded by The Silents members but i was amazed at how many sceners were actually there. Even Offa and Equalizer (more coding heroes of me) ended up at DICE.

If I'm not entirely mistaken, Dr. Skull / Virtual Dreams worked for Scavenger UK, but I don't know which games he was involved in. It seems he works for Hybrid Graphics now...

How about the present coders in the scene? Psycho/Loonies was highly involved in Gangland, but I don't actually know if any other active Amiga coders are involved in the gamemaking business (besides Kalms and Rubberduck).
