A.D.A. Amiga Demoscene Archive

Two possibilites:
1) high quality productions only (the way it is now, or so i hope)
2) become an archive of all amiga productions ever released, regardless of quality.

Option 2 would mean some kind of system where high quality productions are separated from low quality releases depending of the vote from visitors. Maybe split the whole thing up in 2 lists... or whatever better idea anyone comes up with.

This is quite important and in the end, it's up to you visitors to decide. (Mind you, i haven't finished the high quality releases yet )

Would be nice to see EVERYTHING ever made at one point...There are several demos I love that have seemingly vanished into oblivion when ppl talk about a certain groups releases.

But...as you were pondering, I agree you should spilt the "High Quality" from the "crap"...

include only high-quality prods, from your own taste. votes are good but often the subjuctive opinion of a person who knows the different qualities of demos is more fair. it might be hard to determine _how_ good a demo is. But it's pretty easy to separate the good from the bad.

As already stated in the now gone old forumsystem :P: THIS one you're on is the right way to go... and if you'd like to add those features we discussed before... the"Vs."competitions, the "You choose!" one, etc...

I think ADA has taken a nice turn lately. I havent been around for long, but this site got everything Ive been searching for for many years.

Great demos, friendly host and a bunch of friendly and helpful amiga experts.
Quite often when Ive asked questions on other amiga forums i either get no answer or they think its below their worth to answer such questions in a proper manner.

This site/forum is simply perfect now!

Oh...well..maybe you could include a Coders Fileheaven section or something were you upload sources that follows this forums toturial so people that wants to get their hands on what we discuss here can just click and download.

And if you want to recive sources from people too, maybe include a email adress spesific for this project so you can evaluate wether or not you wanna use the sources for tutorial purposes/putting it up into the "Coders Filehaven"..

Also, maybe you wanna make a sticky thread here were you put up links to good Coding sites; be it coding utility, tutorial sites etc etc

Im just brainstorming ideas here... ;)

seconding overflow. i lost my interest in pouet and prefer the friendly athmosphere in here. it just needed to be a little more popular but seeing that we are talking about amigas here i think that we are just fine. also considering that it is the users that make a community great i think we should just continue and the flow may or may not start. at least we are going to have a nice place.

may i propose a wiki instead of a general filestore?

It's no secret that we, at A.D.A, have always been a bit dissapointed with the lack of visitor interaction at A.D.A. And this is still the case. It seems that most people just pass by or don't notice this site. Somehow it feels that if we would stop the site, people would just move on without any feelings about it (granted, that goes for most of the websites i guess...).

If you look at the figures, a small calculation tells me that out of the nearly 500 (!) registered users, not a lot of them have actually added comments or votes. Luckily, a few ones have contributed almost everything.

We are only 2 people working on this (3 in the beginning) so it does involve quite a lot of work. More than 4000 screenshots, all the info, code for the website, the logos,... We do our best we can.

Even this forum, which in the end only counts about 20 members (some very active and friendly ones luckily :)). These are all small numbers... but maybe the amiga scene isn't much bigger anymore?

It's the love for the amiga demoscene that keeps us going and that won't change anytime soon.

I vote for all, simply because otherwise nothing of mine will end up here ;-) Unless you add diskmags, of course...

Of course, a seperation between the "really good" and everything else is a good idea, and probably would cause some interesting debates in the forum...

I like the way now how it is. I think almost evey download here is no waste of time and that´s just perfect. So everybody knows that on A.D.A. only quality productions can be found. Let´s do the marketing in this direction! ;) But on the contrary it would be a interesting idea to have all scene productions ever produced on one site. But that would be a enormous work. How many scene productions for the amiga do exist? 1000? 5000? 10000? Or More?

Or how about a seperate section for curious productions? :)
