Anyone seen this demoscene website covering the ocs Amiga period: Demon Download? Great stuff... lovely design, lot's of info (cooperation with scenery / Menace),... Wow! Time to pack it in and leave it to others...?

@Canine:
As said, i'm impressed by your site. Nice design, great and easy layout and navigation, tons of info... I assume you've got a pretty nice database behind this all :) Splendid work. The cooperation with Menace means you can tap into the resources of Scenery, which is THE resource on the Amiga scene.
You've got everything to make THE Amiga demoscene reference :) And about the OCS only stuff... you'll see... one day, you will decide to add AGA stuff aswell. It was the same with A.D.A. Originally, it was meant to be N.A.D (newshool amiga demoscene) covering AGA only, but fairly soon afterwards, i just had to add all those great OCS demos aswell.
Again, congrats and good luck with your project!

Well, you might be right... The reason for leaving out AGA demos is actually that as I started on the project, my main criteria was that all demos should be compatible with both UAE and Fellow. But who knows... I might have to reconsider that ;)

nice site. however, you'll be lucky if it becomes popular. once the crowd have whet they need it's virtually impossible to convince them to bother with something offering the exact same content.
nice little try, but don't expect it to take off.

Hmm... i sort of agree up to a point. I had the same problem with A.D.A, because, let's face it, with Pouet being around, A.D.A will never have big popularity. Most of the active users are on Pouet and will stay there forever. At first, this was frustrating for me and it still is in a way. The number of votes and comments is so low here, at least much less than could have been. It also means that the Charts aren't what they could have been, nor are the discussions, comments and the forum (which has about 10 more or less regular people involved).
But that doesn't mean people shouldn't do other sites. I'm past the frustration and i just keep doing A.D.A because i want to. I could have stopped doing A.D.A aswell for the popularity reason but i didn't and i'm glad i continued working on it.
It helps when you can put things in perspective. If a website is gone, people forget and move on to another one. So never think that what you're doing is super important. Do it because you believe in your project and because you love the subject you're doing a website on.
So i wouldn't worry about the popularity at all at this stage. Keep doing great work!

I’m glad you like the site but thinking that popularity is my main goal is wrong…
Before starting on Demon Download I loved to visit smaller sites like ADA, because of the high level of information, more screenshots ect.. Furthermore sites like ADA and DD often have demos listed, that can’t be found at Pouet (I guess that’s the site you’re referring to), which makes them well worth a visit. I’m not (and I don’t think Z5 is either) looking to compete with Pouet in any way, we dedicate our time to these projects because we love the amiga scene, not because of popularity ;)

Hey this is all great ! OCS f0rever !
but let me remind you this link:
URL
Webmasters ! don't forget pouet.net let its database open for any other site.
the pouet database is constantly fed by scener from everywhere, and any informations seen on the pouet pages seems to be cachable.
