This one really rocks, as most demos from Slummy. Maybe with also a designer involved this could have been a 5/5 demo.

as always, good looking effects but no pixeled gfx. the best thing about it is definately the outstanding music... turn up the volume and enjoy. unfortunately, like in dark helmets it`s streamed again, i don`t like the use of streamed music in demos. but the whole thing is only 2.77mb so i don`t care much this time. only spaceballs can compete with ephidrena for the crown...

The metacubes are cool. the music kicks ass and staying on top of amiga demoscene technology with glowfilter also deserves some cudos.. Wish it had continued along the lines of the second effect though in style terms.. That one promises dark helmets 2 sort of.. The red parts inside the cubes works pretty well.. The part with the spikeballarms looked nice. I guess the glow works best in this scene. Cool that it fades to grey after a while. Kind of scary ;)

Some of the parts are a bit overdone on the timing. The metacubes would have been more chilling if the camera didnt say "aww fuck off and die.. omph omph.. huh.. omph huh".The camera angles seem sort of random anyway.

I miss the phrase "tune into my radio of feelings" in the opening poetry..

not seen this demo yet mostly because of one reason, none of the latest demos from spaceballs works on my setup , but also because my machine is dead ;-(
(and the video doesnt work on the machine here at work)

hope to see this demo once my setup is back up and running if it works on my setup ;( (a1260/bppc/mediator etc)

One of the best things lately seen on Miggy. Quite innovative fx and who the hell cares about the lack of a pixelblaster... Oh, btw here I am, I've got some spare time... ;)

Some effects remind me of "Aura for Laura" on PS2, a really cool demo by Danish group Soopadoopa (check www.soopadoopa.dk for screenshots)
(the kaleidoscope flatshaded thing, the metacubes similar to 3d-pixelization...)
I think on pouet.net there's an AVI too, just check out PS2 prods and read the comments...
Anyway this gives the demo even more strenght, SB rules on! ;)

well, I was never a big fan of using the colours of the norwegian flag in demos. But hey, the music rulser.

OH MY HOLY GOD IN HEAVEN WHO CREATED DARKSTEP WITH THE HELP OF DIESELBOY AND TECHITCH!!!!!!!!!
This demo penetrates.
Or well, at least the soundtrack DEFINETELY does.
I need to watch this more.

This one is very good. Really nice, atmospheric soundtracks, great and smooth (on my machine) effects. Although I am forced to divide this demo on two parts - the better one and the worst one. Those pinky things are those worst ones. Who made those colours? They don't fit to the whole rest. A little more dark and it would become a classic stuff... But still, very good production. I hope more to come from Spaceballs in 2005.

Oh my god, just checked this demo out 5 min. ago and I must say it "rocked". Lot's of surprising things happening here and that is a BIG plus. Lug00ber and Slummy is indeed a powerfull compination. Really looking forward to see what Slummy has got up his sleeve for 2k5.

comment by prm on 12 April 2005

hahaha!! "the inventors of attitude are back"... that's hilarious. back in the early '90s i don't think anyone would say that spaceballs were the ones with attitude... :)
anyway, a rather nice production imo.

The music does it all!!! Well, design isn't that bad, but the soundtrack is a real KILLER!

comment by pintcat on 25 July 2008

I've found this extended version of lug00ber's soundtrack. Hope this hasn't been posted yet.

I must confess,.. Hearing the music on the large PA system at The Gathering in 2004 gave me the chills :)

A fun-ish fact is that Duckers^Outracks blew his car speakers with "out the exits".
