bstrr: gr8 revision invitation :) and the word "amiga" occurs quite often!

btw, Quote of the Revision Thread 2012:

jamie2010: "...We are really sad to miss the Revision this year but we will be back in 2013 for sure..."

So? :) Are you working on something Jamie? 'Massive' was / is a really great demo.

The end scroller is so embarrassing when I read it now, I was such an angry kid, haha! When I attended Sundown last year (my first party since 93) I actually sat next to the Destiny guys I was sending the fuckings to, but all was forgiven and they even let me share a hotel room rather than me having to slum it under a desk at the party - very nice chaps :-)

I now have around 47k of intro "ready". Well, of course it's still very much in a betastate, but to my surprise things are somewhat in process, and that feels quite nice. Anyone else doing a 64k for Revision?

z5, to reply to your comment in the mo'saik demo thread - yeah, both demos have been pretty rushed. There wouldn't have been any graphics in the datastorm one at all, if it wasn't for Malmix working hard and fast :)

The concept for the Revision 2013 is starting to take form and I plan to have 95% done before arriving as opposed to making 95% of the demo at the party. (as if :D)

Anyone else started already? (yes, Corial, I know that you're almost done!) :)

I have the code (and design) for one part ready, and the "big picture" is also pretty clear. But won't put anything together until I get the music :)

I'm glad to hear that your work is going well :)

And here is the current state of our production:

But if you zoom in on it, it will reveal thousands of particles? :D

Great to hear. It's going to be a good one!

Equally excited for this. I wonder if it will be supergroup, rno, dekadence or something else :) Also, someone recently said: "How many texturemapped 3D-scenes can you watch before getting bored? ;)". Don't let the 3D artists convince you otherwise :) Personally, i'd love to see particle lab 1.0.

I assume that this is the start of an infinite zoom effect? Seriously, sad to see that you have trouble finding a coder :(

It's not Ghostown having trouble finding a coder - it's their coder having trouble finding himself. ;)

And no, it's not an infinite zoomer - it's a radial blur with the blurred parts hidden. That's the new black, you know.

If you know him then kick him in ass, it works pretty well in most cases ;)
Plenty of people are waiting for killer demo (for too long)

Ha jok, i think you're actually talking to him :)

In any case, it would be amazing to see another Ghostown&Loonies co-op. And i'm sure i'm not the only one thinking that. So hopefully it works out for you, Blueberry! May you find your coding spirit once more!

I'm amazed that you guys can build these large demoprojects.I have problems just filling up 64k as it is now,and I wouldn't know what to use 20 megs for.And the timeline (minus the Bstrr timeline) is crazy. Some of you have spent a year already - I simply wouldn't be able to keep my motivation,so...respect.And yikes, storyboards.Nothing draines you more than that :-).So what I'm trying to say is that I respect that you can overcome such (scarce) sparetime projects. With my 30 minutes of coding here and there it would take me forever to finish (best case) such a project.

Bstrr,I am nowhere near finished.I only had effects for half of the duration of the music,so still A LOT of work to be done....

Talking of Storyboards. Ours is ready since January. Truckloads of graphics are coming in. I'm still in the process of simply setting up all the scenes -- somewhat halfway through. Not a single effect included, yet.
It's just graphics moving and replacing each other ... I think that's why I stood away from demo-projects. It's so much content to manage.

@dodke: that is really good news! I hope you keep it up this time. A new demo from you would be awesome.

Anyone know if Rale/Traction is going to revision? A new Traction amiga demo at revision would be great too.

Phew ... marathon weekend ended. 3 quarters of the storyboard finished. Even the first "effect" included, Novel is still fiddling with the tune ... attached 64 pixel sprites are a godsend !

Thankfully I have doc.K for such tasks. He wrote me neat little precalc tools such as:

- a coordinates interpolation calculator (spline/linear) ...ATM still on PC only
- an iff -> colour No. converter ( some sort of chunky thingy )
- and an iff -> 4bit-copper colour converter ( chuny2copper stuff )

all tools dump their results as ASM data source ( dc.w .... ) so that it is only table rotating and lookup pointing for me :D

Great progress reports :)

5 more weeks. Hopefully, some sort of spring weather will arrive in my country in the coming weeks for that special easter feeling. It's about time too.
