Riverwash 2011 next weekend (2-4 september).

Great things have come out of Poland demoscene wise. I remember being excited like a kid during parties like Gravity, Xenium, Intel Outside and Satellite to check out the new releases in the late nineties.

Maybe we'll see something from Elude and maybe those guys from Ghostown doing another co-op. Hey, i'm allowed to dream :)

Party is this weekend. Hopefully we'll see some cool things. Maybe another "blue versus red pill" clash of titans. Elude has been doing incredibly awesome demos lately (dust and shake of the dust) and Ghostown did two fantastic demo co-ops with rno (Metropolice) and Loonies (Human Traffic).

There was a final release of Human Traffic (Ghostown & Loonies) and a slideshow by Ghostown (The lost pixellers, iirc). I think that was it Amiga wise. Hopefully a download link will popup for those soon-ish.

There was also a delicious 256b intro from Blueberry. People were not allowed to vote for it though because it was absent in the voting system for some strange reason...

Final release of HT has turned out pretty well and now it looks more or less like we wanted from the beginning. Blueberry did an awesome job once again! Funny thing - he was making the very final tweaks to the greeting part in the car and right after finishing it the laptop battery suddenly went off! Just in time :) We were boozing in the back seat together with Chaser and decided it was a perfect reason to have another beer ;) Or two. Poor Slayer was a driver so he could not join our celebration :)

We just drove Blueberry (or Jagoda like we call him) to the aiport so the dl link should pop up this evening or tomorrow.

Human Traffic looked cool on the stream. Looking forward to seeing it again in proper quality. Slideshow looked cool too. Didn't see the 256b intro.

Nearly had a nervous breakdown watching the stream though. It was like: "hmm... compos at midnight... do-able". Then midnight turned one and no sign of any compo or announcement or something. So i was like "i've waited until now so a couple more minutes won't harm".. In the end, it was about 3, iirc. Also, that projector seemed a bit grumpy or something. Afterwards, i felt like i watched projector messages with demostuff in between :) Seemed a bit chaotic.

Anyway, parties aren't meant to be watched from a webcam but i wanted to see a new Ghostown vs. Elude showdown... Which didn't happen... oh well :)

For the next Ghostown vs. Elude showdown you have to wait until the next easter/revision party (at least I hope so :)

Ghostown Lost Pixellers Vol.1

Really nice slideshow. Hope there are going to be more in the future. Great tune too, Jazzcat. Fits very nicely. Coder did a good job too.

Just wondering: do we know Darklight from previous amiga releases? He does great pictures. Hope to see them in some demo sometime in the future. Same goes for Vital. That face picture is amazing.

Yup, that was a great slideshow indeed! Pixeled graphics is really missing in the Amiga scene these days so this was a nice surprise and a source of inspiration. Nice concept aswell, hope to see a new edition soon!

@z5, Darklight was (is?) a member of Veezya and he was involved in most of their releases I guess... http://pouet.net/groups.php?which=2695

Thanks. Thought i remembered seeing the name before. Veezya was all about dark stuff (still remember their murderer demo) though iirc and totally different from the style of pictures in this slideshow.

Thx :)

Yeah, Darklight (or DKL) was a member o Vezzya for some years (they relased some smaller productions). Since 2010 he is a Ghostown member and under GTN label he was involved in "Human Traffic" demo.

Vital is a young and talented newcomer slightly more associated with the pixel art scene than the demoscene, but I'm sure he will show sth "scenish" again.

Agreed, Vital's pictures show great promise. Also, Phibrizzo did a nice job on the code.

The final version of Human Traffic was posted to Pouet yesterday, though so far just in the "fix be beautifull" thread (since we can't update the production download links ourselves).

I'll repeat the links here for your convenience: demo, video.

Aske, congratulations on finishing the final version - the tunnel works now :-). No seriously, it truly is a fine piece of work and I do hope that you feel like creating more stuff which does not only fit into the 4k boundary. And of course also congratulations to the rest of the projectteam, you all did excellent jobs!

Thanks!

Speaking of Riverwash releases, has anyone tried Authentic World of Commodore colors on a real Amiga 500? My own A500 is stashed away, so I haven't had the chance to test it on anything but WinUAE.

Because of hardcoded ROM offsets, it has to be an A500 with kickstart 1.3. A1000, A2000 or A600 won't work, and of course anything faster will choke on the SMC. :)
