jamie2010: Pouet, for the most part, is a troll cage. 3/4 of the people commenting on your Massive Pouet production thread will barely know what an Amiga is and judge the prod by PC standards. The other 1/4 will just say what is on their mind without thinking much. Although it is a great resource, Pouet is very aggressive place...you have to take what is said their lightly. :)

I think most people even on Pouet LOVED Massive. The only negative feedback I saw related to the vocals in the music. Not because the music was _bad_ but just because vocals in demoscene tracks has always been a "no no". I don't know why that is...it's just a scene thing.

i can't wait to see what you and all other ADA-coders produce next year. really can't.

hey, guys, let's be friendly towards other sites, please :)

I think there is only one reason why the comments on Pouet might be different than here (and personally, i don't see them that much different tbh): Pouet has about 500 times the number of visitors than this site and from all different platforms, whereas here most of the (rather small amount) people commenting come here because they have a big interest or fondness towards the amiga platform. But i think it's interesting to read what people from other platforms think about amiga productions and vice versa. And ii find that amiga productions are well received amongst non-amiga sceners.

In short: pouet is far more popular, hence the more diverse range of opinions.

All the demos/intos I was able to watch with my 040 32MB are very good IMHO. What I dislike in generally is that at least the music (wav streams) aren`t made on amiga and maybe graphics. Thats just a personal feeling because I like mods.

About the massive song with vocals. I don`t see any point why demo music shouldn`t have vocals. Until they are good, please more. :-) The massive ones I like. Notice there are a lot of bad vocals in commercial music.

I tried the final version (lowmem) "shake off the dust" on my A1240/40 32MB. Short: it doesn`t work well. Speed is about 2-3 fps and sound is played interrupted / not sync (stops about 30 sec. earlier). Kiero you don`t plan any improvements?

blakkhar: Upgrade your 1240 (28.84 MIPS) to 1260/66 (87.71 MIPS), it is just CPU and voltage upgrade (card remains the same). There are guys doing this on professional level (for example guy called Stachu100: http://eab.abime.net/member.php?u=13673)

Nowdays almost all demos are done with minimal requirement of 68060/50, the 66MHz overclocked versions are even smoother. Then watching demos on real Amiga with 060/66 is pure pleasure believe me ;o)

I know/belive that 060 is more fun and thought already about upgrading and decided against but thanks for your recommendation. :-)

Revision sure was a nice party. However, I feel more and more certain that the party concluded my Easterparty series which started back in 1997. Now I want to try something else, e.g. Datastorm or some other more Commodore centric party.
