Is it only me or did you also notice serious downtimes of ADA over the last weeks or months? It felt like about every other weekend ADA would be down when I tried to connect.

The website is holding a sunday restday since a couple of weeks.

Seriously, don't know what's happening but the whole untergrund domain goes down every sunday at around the same time for a couple of hours. Strange that nobody has mentioned this on pouet or something. Have i missed an annoucement about that?

That's very strange, but if it is the same time every week perhaps they have power problems at peak times? *shrugs*

Whilst speaking about bugs and weird, when I log in to the forum I get the "do you wish Firefox to remember your password" window pop-up twice. No other website does this to me. Does anyone else experience this? (I am using Firefox 2.0.0.20 on Windows 2000 SP4)

Apparently, the issue has been explained by Scamp (admin at untergrund) on irc and i quote Saga Musix at Pouet: "that it has something to do with a cronjob running every sunday which breaks the server for some reason and I think it has something to do with too many accounts running on the server" and that it probably won't be fixed on the current server.

So not much i can do about it.

Good news it seems. I saw this message on www.untergrund.net:

Happy new Year. We've got over 500 hosted websites now, and the installation is showing its age - most importantly, the automatically generated website statistics now cause troubles and crashes in the Apache daemon once a week. So we'll finally do it - we've started working on a migration plan to new server hardware. The work porting the codebase to a current Linux distro have started. If everything goes well, we might migrate over at the end of January.

Great news.

Does that mean this site ( and the rest of www.untergrund.net ) is now running on new hardware?
I could assume so, but now how plans can easily slip a few weeks/months due to unexpected hiccups.

Slowly.

The intro and title screen are complete, and I have music. Now just to add more text to the textscrollers and throw in a few more sections. I'm still hoping to be finished by March/April 2011.

Just a quick note to say that untergrund is moving to a new server in the near future, it seems. So if we're moving too, then the sunday downtime should be solved :)

The only thing that needs to be fixed after that is my downtime (= "not being active")

Nope, the phpmyadmin interface still isn't reachable so i can't update the site anymore. Just have to wait until it's fixed. Needing the phpmyadmin interface to update the site sucks anyway :(
