I originally wanted to post this into the "Best AGA Demos, etc." thread until I realised that I misread the post and my answer didn't match the initial question. So here is a new topic...
Dr. Dreyer and me once compiled a DemoCD back in 1997/98 which was targeted at 030/50Mhz and only contained productions that we liked and which are proven to work on that configuration (using noaga and the like, if required). We never released it and it is not completely finished - e.g. it lacks the graphical user interface (but has command line starter tools) - but I could make it available if people were interested.

As far as the interface is concerned. Have you considered using a multimedia authoring package? On the Amiga you are kinda spoilt for choice, but the one used on the AmigaPower CD's (I forget the name) seemed to get the job done.

No, we didn't really consider using an authoring package. This is because we didn't want to fragment memory as many demos of that age really need a fresh boot, i.e. vanilla memory conditions. Apart from this consideration we just didn't finish the CD because we kind of dropped the project.

sorry it's taken so long to reply. life and all. nice collection of demos. I only ran the few which could run on 020+4Mb, but to be fair the few was more like half.
first I've got onew word to say to you regarding a possible frontend
WHDLoad! (a pronoun as it were).
You could use one of the many available frontends with screenshot, etc. or make your own using dos scripts, commands, etc. ( there would be a bit of that involved anyways: )
But of course the demos all have to have WHDLoad slaves.
now I've got my hands on a (cobra 40Mhz) 030, i can check out those demos
And you could sort demos by requirements, which would be handy for CD32 users to access the handful of demos which would run on their machine. I would be happy to lend a hand in this regard if you contact me again. These days it's anakirob at disasterarea dot net.
oh. Is the iso still there? I've lost the cd copy i made.
