@dodke

Thanks! Root 2.0. is cool! What (AGA?) Polka Brothers demos are the best 3 or so?

in random order:

Nexus7
Roots2.0
Democratic
CCCP
(insert random demo here!)

This is an interesting topic...Since i bought a 060 board right after my first 1200, i really can't remember which releases need an accellerator and which run on a plain vanilla 1200... would be an interesting feature for database filtering, eh z5? ;P

"My Kingdom" for standard (remember? It has no 030 turbo card with 32 MB ;->) Amiga? Are you kidding?
Checked out "Vision" so far. I like the story stuff in the demo...

@skan

CCCP is interesting...

But I'm still looking for the Über-Demo for a standard A1200!
Anyone?

You are probably looking for Nexus 7 or Roots/Roots2, depending on your personal preference!

I also always adored the Virtual Dreams stuff (mostly Dr. Skull's work). Check Fullmoon, Love and Psychedelic (this one is sadly unfinished).

Also Gengis did great demos (for various groups). Check Real/Complex, Origin/Complex and Motion/Bomb.

Then there are the Polka Brothers. Check Friday at Eight, The Prey and Gevalia.

Basically check the results of The Party 94 and 93 and maybe also some of the other big parties of that time. Pouet.net is good for that!

I think that should leave you entertained for some time.

Cheers
PS: Syndrome by Balance was also cool

For me a standard amiga is 030+ 4mb fast and not a 060, if you look good demo without anything there are Real from Complex and Cuzco from Oxygen. If you can have a 4mb fast memory with the standard 020 @ 1'mhz you can add Gforce from Pygmy Project

i guess beyond the future by union worked on a basic 1200. It's not very pretty but has a nice 3d engine in copperchunky.
