hello,

i'm working on an 64kb into for amiga 500 for the next revision.
is there any possibility to create samples in beginning of the intro? like precalculation?
did anybody has experience in this?

and my second question. i want a special song for my intro. this or maybe a similar song
from style. the revision is next year, so it would be enough time :)

i put a link from this song here. i hope anybody can help me.
if the link doesn't work, so search for "space harrier climax".

Of course. If you're using Player6.1 you can export the module with blank samples, which you can then fill with the generated samples during precalc.

Maybe Planet Loonies Synth? I think the source is on Aminet. I fear MakeMusic2.S is used to create the music and it isn`t possible to use Protracker.

What about Cinter?

We used it recently in our 16k intro.

I was about to suggest Cinter, but JazzCat beat me to it. :)

The Planet Loonies synth will not work on A500, as it uses FPU and requires lots of RAM.

Cinter was made as a streamlined solution for exactly the situation you describe: a Protracker module with generated samples, running on all Amigas. There is a new version coming out soon which will enable a combination of generated and raw samples (like in Je Suis Rose - the intro that JazzCat linked to).

The Cinter player has some limitations on the available effect commands, but these can usually be worked around. If these limitations are too restrictive for you, it is also possible to use the Cinter sample generator together with e.g. The Player, though that will require some more manual code intergration. I know h0ffman has used it that way.

you want music in that style like the space harrier remix or like space harrier??

and 64k intro, .. isn't there space for none-generated samples?
deltapacking and some other codeporn should do the trick. atleast h0ffman is very good at that.
if you tell me what exact music style it should be, then maybe i can help you out.

if your intro will have more visual content than our last 40k invitro (spaceballs), then using some
generated samples is the way to go, otherwise i can fix you a mod without generated songs.

the mod in that intro has no pre-calculated samples.

Sorry, didn't see your post.

As for the chords. On top of Cinter sounds I also used 3 regular IFF samples: funky guitar, the filtered pad and the crisp snare drum. The newest version of Cinter allows to merge synthesized instruments with samples, but it's not available for public yet, as The Fruit (Blueberry) is still tweaking it.

I always wanted to mix Cinter with vocoders (yeah, I'm a sucker for vocoders!). We've had only 16kb for intro at Decrunch party, so I didn't manage to stick any more samples into Je Suis Rose module, but luckily there was also executable music competition with 32kb size limit and I took this opportunity to make a bigger and longer version of the tune. Check it here when you have a sec.

Hi Peabrain, I know this post is 6 years old!

But I thought maybe I am lucky and you read this. Would really like to get in touch with you again. Share some good old memories, about the "faque" demo group fun times, we had. Would be also nice to share and see where everyone is now. Location wise and what everyone is up to.
Nice to see that you still are into demos/intros in 2016. I am still into music very much so maybe we find some colaboration possibilities? :)
Can you imagine 2 years ago I moved back to hometown after 20 years in Berlin? And now I live just a few meters from "Mikado", where it all started!!!
I get constant nostalgic feelings, so I had to search the web a bit to maybe be lucky and find some of the good old fellows.
Are you still around here, or anyone knowing me or you ?

cheers!
Daniel aka Blaze aka The Crusader
