Ok, as boldly stated a month ago I'll have a go at discussing some of the effects from Norwegian Kindness for your general amusement. ;)
Waddle over to codingwithballs.wordpress.com for more info. Currently it only covers the colour-overlay-trick discussed in this thread, but I *am* planning to add more in the not to far future.

I played and played with settings on WinUAE and still couldn't get your Norwegian Kindness demo working properly, so I ended up watching it on YouTube. Very impressive visuals, some I can guess how you did them and others where I am am left clueless.

I also read the details you posted onto Wordpress about the demo. Very interesting stuff. I love playing with the copper to do allsorts of colour trickery :) Perhaps you could explain how you did the clouds - was it a single digitised image which you warped using various graphical effects, or was it several played in sequence and scrolled using the hardware?
The metagrid is particularly impressive too. How many objects are used at a single time to form the grid? It looks to me like 5,000+.
