Nice fast rotozoom and tunnel effects on a stock A500. Anyone know how its done so fast?

There's a thread here about some of Chaos's effects (rotozoom and tunnel) in Roots / Sanity (A1200 demo). Might be interesting to have a look there.

Z5: That thread is about doing the 3d rotator which uses a copper trick.

If you mean the texture tunnel at the start of Arte that isn't done with C2P. Basically you have a 1 pixel high 16 colour repeating bitmap for each size that you need. Then you get the copper to display the correct line using modulos or bpl pointers. Then at the start of each scan line you load in the colours for that line. Arte does this and uses sprites over the top for the connecting vertical bars.
