there`s an alternative high-res exe now, and some new character animations. wonder why they still did not include their group`s name... whatever, a masterpiece!

The high-res version looks excellent but runs quite slow on my machine. Which is strange as it is an 68060. Or do they mean PPC when talking about fast machines?

I think they mean faaast WinUAE environment... or a 68060@75MHz at least...
The new character IK-anims are cool, but the last scene (the one with the twister) was better in the BP release IMHO ;)

I believe there were new anims, and maybe the motionblur is new.

hehehe.. some very fr025ish character anims now :) It is disturbing how believable the animation is compared to what you would expect given how it was done.. It kicks the ass of most character animation done in fullblown demos..

isn't it a HAM6 production ? I guess so. It means when you see 160 pixel it means in fact a 640 pixel HAM mode,
and when you see 320 pixel HAM it is in fact 1280 HAM6 pixel mode. This is a tricky c2p, you got 4 hard pixel for 1 real pixel, but then no nasty HAM color overflow. It uses lots of chipram, it can explain the slow down even with 68060. Greetings again to loonies.

Hey, if you can watch java applet, run to Pr ken perlin homepage:

http://mrl.nyu.edu/~perlin/

Two oh his applet use the same trick :

http://mrl.nyu.edu/~perlin/experiments/violet/
http://mrl.nyu.edu/~perlin/experiments/fiend/

Ken perlin is an unversity professor, he experiments a lot of demo-like effect. All his applet show experimentations with real time software engines under java, and usually he gives sourcecode for each !!! I got a lot of respect for him.

K.Perlin discovered lots of algorythm commonly used in 3D render since the seventies (character skinning, procedural textures) and was involved in the movie "tron". ( I guess the tron motor racer game must be one of his crazy idea, it smells like perlin spirit. )

Hehe, I can't resist. In this ken perlin applet, you got the secret behind the beautiful PC demo "We cell" by kewlers:
